Well, it's not going to be another Chicago Spire considering it's under construction and probably some 400 feet out of the ground. Not sure what would happen if funding didn't come through. I guess a truncated building...

This building is financed, u/c, and Barnett is like the polar opposite of the little-known carpenter who claimed he would build the Chicago Spire.

Barnett is the most prolific urban developer in the U.S. and has never had a failed project. He's also inherently conservative with financing, and has Manhattan massive land holdings, but obviously he prefers using other people's money.


Except that One57 does have crown lighting.

One57 was one of the most successful condo developments in NYC history, BTW.

Barnett is kind of what Trump claims to be. He actually is a skyline-changing billionaire urban developer who builds pretty amazing projects that tend to be "huuge" successes. But he's a very modest, understated family-oriented Orthodox Jew, who still lives in Queens with his big family, shunning the spotlight.
