You captured the spirit of the city well, would love to visit! Of the Central American cities I have been to San Salvador and Guatemala City in 2016, even these cities didn't feel that dangerous but I'm sure Panama is safer. And more modern with lots of skyscrapers of course.

Great beautiful city. I would love to go back. It didn’t have a metro when I was there in 2001. I took a chance and rode around in the diablo Rojos!
