I know I've said it before, but I'll proudly say it again:
This tower will bring balance to the skyline. You can't have 432 Park being the only super skinny tall without this. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...neous/Cool.gif |

Any shot this project gets scrapped or put on hold? Condo market in this price range looking rough

Condo market is very strong in NYC. I doubt they'll have issues, esp. given site was bought years ago, so they have less pressure to get top prices. |
Yeah, this isn't getting scrapped. Like the Tower Verre though (53W53) it's a slow and complicated process getting this one built (it's being built in and as an extension or alteration to an existing landmark building). Our patience will pay off however.

Since when did this become 1,495 feet? A few feet taller and this (beautiful) toothpick might just fall over...

Although technically, this will be slightly over 1,495 if your account for elevation. So it will, from sea level of 0', look to be slightly over 1500'. CPT will definitely appear to look slightly over 1,600'+. |

:soon: That massive crane looks cramped in that tight space.
That narrow space will be home to an impressive supertall! |
|
|
How will that crane be removed as the tower rises?
It takes up so much space in that narrow space. |

Tower Crane
The tower crane lives in the part of the building that will be low rise and contain the lobby areas. It also is fairly close to the street. So it shouldn't be too much more difficult to take this one down that to take down any of the other cranes that now dot the landscape. I suspect it will be easier than at Hudson Yards, for example, where cranes run up the middle of some of the huge new buildings like #30.
