I almost said gay, but then I like realized that we really don't use gay to mean happy any more...so, yeh, and it was only because he said something about dicks. It's only because he's a lawyer ya know.

The new Seasons building? It's maybe a year old.

We'll compromise at 5 years.

So nice sized developments on both sides of the street here. Density is getting real in Cherry Creek.

At some point soon, I would think the shoe will drop on the Cherry Creek mall itself (Safeway and Rite-Aid site). Surely those spaces will get re-developed ?

I'd also love to see the entire West Side of the Mall - Bad and Bath and Container store get redeveloped. Scrape the the entire thing and redevelop to a mix of retail and housing.

Per a connection at Safeway there are talks of a ~12 floor Westin going in at the lot once the current lease is up. Safeway wants to remain at the site and has a great deal of neighborhood support to do so.

I support keeping the Safeway. It's historic by now isn't it?

And and on St. Paul -

That's a lot of quality development!

I suspect a bigger shoe will drop before too long (given the Safeway lease expiration) on some significant redevelopment of the mall itself.

I just did a big write-up on DI, including going over the current zoning, max heights these projects will have, etc:

That IMO is the missing piece in the redevelopment of Cherry Creek, the mall itself. What they've recently done at 1st & Fillmore is really nice with the new RH that opens onto the street. A major renovation of the mall interior is needed, and more retail fronting 1st Ave. Any chance the city adds street parking to both sides of 1st? It would add parking to the area and also help slow down that street which is a major divide between the mall and CCN.

In addition to the Safeway site there is also the Sears redevelopment which will likely be a major project with multiple 8 story office and condo buildings, and more retail/restaurant space along where Columbine will be extended from 2nd to 1st.
