I'm a-lookin' at posts #1221 & #1229 . . . and I'm a-gettin'
slightly more comfortable with these weird proportions . . . mostly because something about the building is looking more "imposing" to me as a form . . . That's a good thing - 'cause I like this town and hate big ugly buildings. Small ugly buildings don't matter much in NYC. . . A few wks. ago seeing a scary picture of 111 on the cover of the Sun. NYT mag. where the sliver of the south facade sliced the entire park from 59th to 110th in two . . . me timbers were a-shivered - but good . . . I mean who would wanna live in a 1400 foot tall pencil ? . . . SNAP ! . . . posts 1151 & 1153 (page 58) . . . had a similar effect. Hells-a-poppin in that New York ! . . . But today my anticipation started a-flutterin' . . . and who knows - I may start a-Lovin' this pencil yet. . . |
Where else in the world can one find 1,400 continuous feet of terra cotta? The detailing in this building looks absolutely insane. Nothing else like it on earth.

The progress on this project, or lack thereof, is slightly frustrating.
|
^^TBH, it must be really frustrating logistically to work in such a narrow & cramped pit. I would be getting claustrophobic ripping off my clothes yelling to everyone to step the Eff back.

Kudos to the architects . . .
for the outrageously sharp architectural profile. as well as the complexity of the crown . . . It makes a very strong statement. |

This site will probably take a bit longer to rise than the other 57th street towers, as there's still lots of work prepping the older building. |
Race to the skies! Time to get an updated camera. 2017 will be a sight. :slob:
Top of the Rock will be a great location for some good camera zooming action. |

And in reference to your last point, Anybody spouting personel attacks on me can go to hell. I won't be wasting my time reading them, life is too valuable for that nonsense. |
