Obniosly, alot of work still needs to be done. there are still alot of empty lots. But IMO,it looks WAAAAY more realistic:cool:

also,San yuck,It had to go. It made no sense. Poor, rundown Commieblocks on Californian beaches and the riverfront full of high doller condos?!??!:sly: so yeah. there might be a new slum district in the future, but not right now.

verticalextropy Dec 21, 2007 1:03 AM

Alright Austin! Now it's really coming to look fantastic, and it looks better than realistic it looks like a cool game.
I'm confussed is that the waterfront I see there with the roads turning into piers?

Patrick Dec 21, 2007 1:18 AM

I still wanna know what Calcorp is. Cause thats realllllllllllllyyyyyyyyy lame if you tried to make a new company using the name Galcorp.

I amm liking the new layout, so much better and much more realalistic.

Aleks Dec 21, 2007 1:18 AM

Calcorp is my favorite building since it's the most realistic lookin and yes the city looks more realistic than before.

I don't think the streets turn into piers, he may just not be finished with that part of town.

foxmtbr Dec 21, 2007 4:08 AM

Great job redoing the city. It already looks awesome, and it's not even done.

Austin55 Dec 21, 2007 4:48 AM

Ehh,no. Its not a Galcorp Parody. Its just a name I made up to stick on a building. I wasnt intintional. Ifyou look at the last shot, you can see a Sancorp sighn. Ill change it if you want. No hard feeling I hope:)

Calcorp is pretty neat though. I like the color. I made a Animation, but the link was busted so Iedited it out.

Oh in the first picture I see two buildings based off of real onezzzz uhh 1 Financial Square in NYC on the right and One Harbor Center from Vancouver on the lefttt.

Dac150 Dec 22, 2007 11:42 PM

Awesome austin. Thank you for that box, you know me too well.;) The city is really looking great in every area. The company names really mature the city nicely. Good job!

Aleks Dec 23, 2007 12:08 AM

WOW! I didn't even notice that Patrick. Come on Austin. Just tell us.

Austin55 Dec 23, 2007 5:55 AM

ya you were all right.

Ok,the NBC building was based of...

A building in texas! theres your first hint;)

sorta off topic.but..

heres a really weird story for ya. sorry if I make alotta mispelling,my hands are shaking and sweating. Heres why. My mom and I were looking through a bunch of our vacation pictures. I looked in this one bag and saw a brochure from bostons hanckock tower when whe went there in 98ish. So I pulled some pictures out of the bag. There were a bunch from New England. Then I saw one from times square. so I looked through a few more, and,Found one of NY skyline from A borugh, way north of the city. It was mostly a big wall with graffiti andalotta of smokestacks. Bu O started looking at the skyline and saw The WTC. I nearly cried. It was really amazing, and to think That I saw that is pretty cool.

yeah,Its a picture Im going to keep forever.

OK,the end.

My dad has a few pics of the Twins, hell he even went to the top on May 2001 on a businiess tripp, he also went to the topp of the ESB. He lovedd NYC, said how people where actually very friendly and how the city's vibe was.

I REMEMBER he called home from his hotel room at the Marriott World Financial Center, (2blocks down from the WTC) TELLLIN ME that he was looking right up to the Twin Towerszz. I was a lil 2nd grader back then, and even then I was obsessseeddd with the twins.

I'll never misplacee those pics. AUSTIN CAN YOU scan the picture?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Esbwtcview.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...mariottday.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...2/Wtcmay01.jpg

CGII Dec 23, 2007 7:03 PM

I was in New York on August 11, 2001, staring at the twins from the ESB deck precisely one month before the second plane hit.

Tanster Dec 23, 2007 7:55 PM

Austin thats a cool city you got I like that pic from picasso plaza

Austin55 Dec 24, 2007 2:05 AM

When we went to NY we stayed in a hotel RIGHT ON times square. that was reall cool. But we got real sick, sowe spent a week puking out our window on people in times square. On the last day we hurriedly went to ESB,but it was freakin CLOSED:hell: so we got a million pics OF ESB,not from it. We probably had plans on visiting the twins, but we didnt see anything but ESB and times square.

At the time I could care less about Skyscrapers. I might have like sears tower,Sine it was the tallest in the world at the time. But took me maybe 5 years to relize it got surpassed, twice.

Ill try and scan em. There from waaaay out in a burrow, and are only a few millimeters tall. There not nearly as good as your dads.

after 9/11 I was in first grade,Thats sorta whenI first really got into skyscrapers. I wanted to find out WHY. But it only lasted for a month. THEN after our trip to chicao,I came home, got on google and found SSC. Ive been hooked since.

My dads a fire fighter, and he had friends go to Ground Zero to help out NYFD. So we have ALOT of WTC and 9/11 Memorabilia. From T-shirts to Christmas ornaments. I never really paid attention to them until this year.

I do Miss the twins

I was at the top of the Empire State Building back in May 2007 and I just remember looking out across the city and seeing everything, and then looking towards Downtown and seeing how...incomplete the skyline looked, and how there was just this gaping hole of where something should be that just isn't anymore. It was pretty moving. I wish I had pictures from up there, but my camera sucks at night.

Aleks Dec 24, 2007 10:39 PM

I'm 15. And a half.

Sorry bout the off-topic Austin. Great work on the city and the only thing that makes me sad about 9/11 is the loss of the people not the buildings. I never even knew about them until 9/11.

Austin55 Dec 26, 2007 7:31 AM

I gots me A camera for christmas! yays,Now I can go make more textures!

Aleks Dec 26, 2007 7:53 AM

Is the NBC Building based of an NBC Building? Do you make your clouds or get them from the internet?

Austin55 Dec 26, 2007 8:00 AM

No.

The clouds you can make in Paint.net and Gimp, but I occasionaly take from internet or my own Pics.

Mocholate Dec 26, 2007 8:46 AM

WOW>that looks great. I suggest using actual skies in your backgrounds. That would look sooo much better.

Austin55 Jan 2, 2008 5:59 AM

Do you know any good sites with lots of Images? I have a few gathered up. But are there any good sites that arent Terribly slow:slob:

Aleks Jan 2, 2008 7:33 AM

For some reason that reminds me of Central Park in New York where it's flat and there are giant towers all around.

But what do you mean by good sites with lots of images?

Xeelee Jan 2, 2008 6:46 PM

nice

Dac150 Jan 2, 2008 6:49 PM

I love how there is a canyon/wall of skyscrapers lining the park. I especially love that box at the end (nothing makes a city like a good old glass box).

Austin55 Jan 4, 2008 11:42 PM

:previous: The Black Box? Tis not A box! actaully, thats Mo's building, and is a sorta triangel shape. Ill do an emporis page soon, when I finish the plaza, here's KPMG tower(sorry fox,the PD ad SUCKS!)
http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...55/empkpmg.gif

edits, should say is th LARGEST building with KPMG name.

Because of its adress,it has also been called "lucky".

Facede fell of,not faced

http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...in5555/8-4.gif

What do yall think of this new tower? I had had a melon bank center based tower on the boards for A while now,and after seeing Aleks W i finished it.
http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...2247_1m12s.jpg
also,Whats up with podium? it rendered just fine!
http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...233328_56s.jpg

Aleks Jan 4, 2008 11:56 PM

Renders need to be a little bigger. The Melon bank tower doesn't look too similar to mines. My pyramid at the top is taller, and the tower is skinnier. To me it looks more like One Canada Square in London. Great work though. Looks very good.

Dac150 Jan 5, 2008 1:02 AM

I like the new tower.

Austin55 Jan 5, 2008 7:22 AM
