Are there towers of this type in USA?
I believe, there are no towers similiar like this in USA ( perhaps I am wrong)
TV Towers of concrete in rural areas similiar to that on Ochsenkopf Mountain in Germany Examples http://www.dxradio-ffm.de/Ochsenkopf_X.jpeg Ochenkopf TV Tower, Ochsenkopf Mountain (Bavaria, http://de.structurae.de/structures/d...fm?ID=s0011594 ) http://emi.emitel.pl/EMITEL/ObjectImages/DODR_S3T.jpg Swiety Krzyz TV Tower, Lysa Gora (Poland), height: 157 metres http://www.dxradio-ffm.de/Liberec-Jested_X.jpg Jested TV Tower, Jested Mountain ( Czech), height: 100 metres ( http://en.structurae.de/structures/d...fm?ID=s0000344 ) http://www.dxradio-ffm.de/AUTSchladming.jpg Schladming TV Tower, Schladming ( Austria) As you can see there are similiar towers in at least 4 European countries. Are there similiar towers also on mountains in USA? ( I believe not, but who knows?) Partially guyed towers Towers consisting of a free-standing tower as basement with a mast guyed at the ground on the top. An example for this is the 120 metre tall tower of SLR Makarki in Poland ( a fmous tower of this type is gerbrandytoren in the Netherlands, but it has a concrete tower as basement and concrete towers are very rare in general in USA) http://emi.emitel.pl/EMITEL/ObjectImages/DODR_E2G.jpg Top guyed towers Towers similiar to Wavre TV Tower in Belgium http://perso.orange.fr/tvignaud/gale...-wavre-fm1.jpg Wavre TV Tower, height: 232 metres, year of built: 1983 |
The US has towers like these.

The KVLY-TV mast(formerly the KTHI-TV mast) is a television transmitting mast in North Dakota, USA, used by Fargo station KVLY channel 11. At 2,063 ft (628.8 m), it is currently the world's tallest supported structure on land.

I think he's right and the U.S. has nothing like those concrete towers.
|
Yeah, no concrete towers, but we've got those ugly red and white one plastered all over creation.
|
I was gonna say, the red and white ones are EVERYWHERE
|
thank God no we don't have any of those in the USA. I'm surprised the author of this thread didn't throw in the photo of that tower in Prague with baby statues climbing up it.
