Ah interesting.
And it was the Asian bound planes with the green. European bound planes wings appeared to have none. Clear or white maybe.

The flight now changes to A319 for the entire season in this week's update, so it will go ahead ;)

Not sure where AC gets the A319 from... delaying retirement even further?

There weren’t any 319s set to retire in 2020 under the new plan.

There are rumours circulating that WS will be announcing new Europe routes out of YYZ & YHZ tomorrow. Strongest speculation is on EDI & MAN.

YHZ-MAN confirmed.

WestJet in summer 2020 season is launching new Trans-Atlantic service from Halifax, where it’ll offer Halifax – Manchester nonstop flight. From 05JUN20, Boeing 737-700 aircraft will operate this route 4 times weekly.

WS057 YHZ2245 – 0812+1MAN 73W x246
WS058 MAN0945 – 1152YHZ 73W x357

Manchester will be the airline’s 3rd destination in the UK, also the 3rd UK route from Halifax.

hollywoodcory Jan 16, 2020 12:05 PM

With MAN, that brings WS to 7 non-stop destinations in Europe. This will be the first time they add more than one new Europe destination in the same year as well. I suspect YYZ/YYC-MAN will follow next summer when they get more 787s.

Well, at least they're honest. Scuzzy, but honest.

Swoop airlines is charging a new $2.56 fee on every flight to offset the cost of new federal regulations intended to protect air passengers.

In a statement, the airline said the Passenger Protection Regulation (APPR) Surcharge was introduced to maintain Swoop’s ability to provide “unbundled, ultra-low fares.”

The airline says the fee was introduced on Jan. 9...

They probably need it after this fiasco:

'A trip from hell:' Canadians on Swoop flight to Hamilton 'stranded' in Mexico

More than 100 Swoop Airlines passengers who were expecting to arrive in Hamilton's John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport on Tuesday were "stranded in Mexico" after a cancelled flight.

Passengers say they had a hard time getting information from the airline, were offered "dingy" places to stay in unsafe areas of the city, not provided with transportation and in some cases told they'd need to wait days for a new flight home...

Quite the European bank that WestJet has built up at Halifax:

22:20 Dublin (6x)
22:35 London (daily)
22:45 Manchester (4x)
22:50 Glasgow (6x)
22:55 Paris (daily)

How many of those routes are Max 8 dependent?

Last summer only CDG got suspended. But I believe eventually all those routes will be 7M8 once it returns to service.

plrh Jan 17, 2020 3:34 PM

I just booked to Dublin, but I went with AC because I do not want to be rescheduled when the Max 8 grounding rolls forward again. Same thing happened with Paris last year, but we booked with westjet but on the 787 out of Calgary.

I like the idea of the YHZ connection because it means more flights to from YWG to YHZ but not with the Max 8 situation uncertainty.

If WS could add a daily connecting flight from YQB to YHZ in summer for connections to Europe, that would be very helpful. I've booked CDG-YQB on westjet but I'll have to pass by Halifax and Toronto. Not very convenient to go west and then go back east.

At least their price for that flight was very attractive. So attractive that it made me decide to book a 18h flight instead of TS direct flight.
