The rock flowed like a liquid across the valley, finally coming to rest two kilometers from the base of the mountain, after 90-100 seconds (estimated to have reached speeds up to 112kph). This place in particular is an archaeological site where the native people, using keen understanding of the topography of the land and of the behaviour of the plains bison, hunted entire herds at once by stampeding them over the cliffs onto the rocks below.
