Nice design though. |
Surprised this hasn't been posted yet!
Uber set to sign massive lease at 3 World Trade Center Ride-hailing juggernaut Uber is about to sign a massive lease at 3 World Trade Center, where it will relocate its New York headquarters, according to a new report. The deal will give the ride-hailing app seven floors, totaling more than 300,000 square feet, with an option to take an eighth floor for an additional 50,000 square feet, Crain’s New York Business reported on Friday. https://nypost.com/2019/09/13/uber-s...-trade-center/ |

Gorgeous! I love how the new complex capitalizes on the angles of the sun and fully embraces it!

While the construction of 3 WTC is complete, new dining places at the base of the building are still opening up. Sweetgreen (facing south Oculus Plaza) opened up in late October.

From 21:35 to 21:43 in this video, a pan up and down from Cortlandt Street looking west to the WTC site shows 4 WTC to the left and 3 WTC to the right in a twin-like configuration.
When/if 2 WTC is complete, the view from Fulton Street looking west might look similar, although 3 WTC and 2 WTC will be farther part horizontally and the Oculus will be just to the left of 2 WTC, rather than 3 WTC being just to the left of 2 WTC (unlike how 4 WTC is just to the left of 3 WTC when viewed from the east). |

Viewing the Lower Manhattan Skyline drives me nutz knowing how the initial crown 👑 of 3WTC was intended before being decapitated. That extra 50 meters + luminescent spires would of made a world of difference. Must drive the architects over at Roders & SOM crazy.

After the opening of Sweetgreen in 2021, another restaurant, Fogo de Chão, is currently planned to open sometime in 2024:

it's possible that the plan was scrapped. Hopefully not, there was apparently a taco bell in one of the original world trade center buildings https://nealungerleider.substack.com...de-center-taco, so it would be a good homage to the site for another taco bell to open at the site. |
