Ooops, I was fooled by 220CPS which looked like it was part of 225 from that angle. Very little progress. I would have thought with the new Chinese financial backing, the pace would accelerate. Guess not. :(

The pace hasn't changed, and has nothing to do with financial backing. They're now building the cantilever, and there won't be much vertical movement for a while.

Once cantilever is done this will shoot up, but it will take a while.

I walked by the site yesterday and you can really imagine how beautiful Nordstrom's undulating glass curtain wall will be by what's already been completed.

That ended with One World Trade, so you're a bit late.

Fact: The Central Park Tower will be about 100 ft taller by roof height than the Sears (Willis) Tower.

Fact: The Freedom Tower (1 WTC) will still be the tallest in the country.

Fact: Central Park Tower will be tallest in the country by roof height.

According to Barnett about a month ago, this was 300 feet approximately. So right now, possibly 340 or so. So 1/5 of the total height.

Crawford is right, the lower end of cantilever has already been constructed.

Where CPT height wise is at right now relative to its surroundings. CPT is in the foreground to the right, and the taller tower is 220 CPS.

We can also see a hotel tower in which the name reflects a very small handed man. With tiny, tiny hands over in Columbus Circle. ;)

220 CPS is clearly a problem for the expanded views from CPT, though the views will be great anyway. Looking at these old elevation drawings and that last photo, things have changed a bit...
