WS also kept YYC-YOW well AC is cancelling it. Biggest surprise is YYC-LIR. I figured they would focus the Caribbean/Central America routes at YYZ. Also WS will upguage YYC-CUN to a 789 on Fri/Sat as well. |
The Chinese CAAC approved Sichuan airline's application for 1x weekly YYZ-CTU. Not sure whether 3U will move one of the 2x weekly currently from YVR to YYZ, or this is meant when everything is back to normal. Also unsure of where the frequency came from too.. Maybe SHE is not coming back, or they're getting it from another airline who gave up some of their Canadian route?

As for YQY-YQM, I think the only way this would work is if YQY was an intermediate destination between YYT and YQM. This is possible. There are a fair number of ex pat Newfoundlanders in Cape Breton (although mostly from western Newfoundland). |

There's a petition to get YEG named after Max Ward. It already has almost 9,000 signatures.
https://www.change.org/p/edmonton-in...ur-of-max-ward Seeing Wardair 747s and DC-10s at YOW as a kid in the early-mid 80s is what sparked my interest in aviation. |

The 'Dart Herald' equipment EPA used was a high wing turbo-prop very similar to a Dash-8/Q400. It carried around 45 passengers. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...653d631c_c.jpg |

Here's another petition. This time travel agents are pleaing not to be forgotten. If airlines refund pax, the airlines will want upwards of $200M in agent commissions refunded to them.

British Airways appears to have officially cancelled YYC for S21 (and probably permanently).
YYZ/YUL and YVR were all reduced in frequencies. KLM will likely be YYC's sole foreign long-haul carrier in 2021, as I don't see Edelweiss or Condor resuming either. |
The day after AC 'suspend' YYF, Pac Costal will be launching YYF-YVR daily X6:
Route Frequency Departing Arriving Effective Vancouver to Penticton Monday – Thursday 10:40 a.m. 11:30 a.m. January 11, 2021 Penticton to Vancouver Monday – Thursday 12:00 p.m. 12:50 p.m. January 11, 2021 Vancouver to Penticton Friday & Sunday 2:45 p.m. 3:35 p.m. January 11, 2021 Penticton to Vancouver Friday & Sunday 4:05 p.m. 4:55 p.m. January 11, 2021 https://canadianaviationnews.wordpre...-to-penticton/ |

YCG here in Castlegar brought in Central Mountain Air when we lost AC to Vancouver (and Calgary). |
Copa resumed PTY-YYZ last week and PTY-YUL this week. Always good to see another international carrier resuming service to Canada.

It was confirmed today they are permanently suspending YYC. WestJet could get a whole summer being the only carrier flying YYC-LON (I have my doubts on AC LHR. I'd say FRA has the better shot of returning). |
Do you think that Westjet will return to YQB in summer 2021? Because I think that their seasonal YQB-YYC route could work even better since Canadian might prefer to travel domestically for the next year and Air Canada never flown it directly. Or could they try YQB-YVR like they do in Halifax every summer?
