Montgomery Bank is planning a new tower in downtown Clayton. The original plan was for a 30-story mixed-used building, but apparently that plan has been scrapped based on a rendering that has surfaced. Montgomery Bank relocated to St. Louis from rural Sikeston, Missouri. The rendering appears to put the tower in the neighborhood of 20-stories. |
Citygarden.
Work is still underway at Citygarden. - a new $30-million sculpture garden in downtown St. Louis, which is opening in a few weeks. It is a part of and an enhancement of the Gateway Mall, which stretches from the Mississippi River to St. Louis Union Station. The enhanced area is to include water features (fountains and splashing water jets), an on-site restaurant, walking trails, and many works of art. The restaurant, The Terrace View, a 3,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor restaurant, is to be geared toward Mediterranean foods – mostly French and Italian.
St. Louis is known to have some of the best sculpture gardens in America. The ninety-six acre outdoor museum, Laumeier Sculpture Park, is located in St. Louis and draws tourists from all over the country. The Missouri Botanical Garden is also widely known for its sculptures and sculpture exhibits. http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7...wntown1002.jpg Photo by The Count, urbanstlouis.com http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3334/...8526bbbe_o.jpg Source http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2476/...73407f16_o.jpg Source http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3348/...ce175834_o.jpg Source http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3599/...6ca33773_o.jpg Source http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3300/...08673b5b_o.jpg Source http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3406/...d41b04c1_o.jpg Source http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3593/...a165052b_o.jpg Source http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/9...wntown1004.jpg Photo by The Count, urbanstlouis.com |

Great photos, Arch. Anyone know why urbanstl has been down?
Those pics from U.S. Bank are great, i wonder why they didn't make the west wall of this tower windows as well. Seems like that would be a tremendous view to market. |
1st Post. I have been a member for several months, but I just recently got a Flickr account. These pics are from Aug 2. Several of the Roberts Tower and more of downtown and the stadium. Enjoy!
I'm from Springfield MO, but I've lived in the St. Louis area (O'Fallon IL and Fairview Hgts) for the past 12yrs. I also lived in San Antonio for 6 years back in the 80's during middle and high school. I think it's great that St. Louis is adding another building downtown (Lumiere Place a couple years ago). I don't get to the city often, but any time I take pics, I plan on adding them. Hopefully we will see more development downtown, especially around Ballpark Village, once the economy starts to improve. I really like CityGarden. My family and I have been there a couple of times, and the kids love the water. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2590/...649463e6_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3483/...bb31aa54_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3492/...dd866f1f_m.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2587/...5231de12_m.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2550/...b6e52a4a_m.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2090/...1cc60ce0_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3486/...d97c64c3_m.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2496/...c9e16d76_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3453/...b614cb8a_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3548/...7b4ebbdf_m.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2508/...453b9955_m.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2618/...72c79be6_m.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2568/...2bcdcacb_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3575/...f477bd4e_m.jpg |
For all of you photo types, what's the easiest way to resize my pics? Should I do it in my computer files or from my Flickr account?

Anyone have updates on the Roberts Tower?

Nice Pictures of STL..! Can SSP update its' current description of St.Louis..!
Logging on to the cities or diagrams page, STL is defined as a "city" that "sits along the border of Missouri and Illinois on the Mississippi". That is a lame description of a city that has produced more Security through aviation, and Beer and Transportation...! STL has and will be an economic and tourist attraction..! |

There is a copy of the forum up and running at http://www.urbanstlouis.com/urbanstl/. There have been a few posts and updates of late, but even it's very buggy and anything posted here will be lost when they finally get the real thing up and running. You can check the UrbanSTL facebook page for status updates, or go the the "why is the forum so bloody slow" thread on the UrbanStLouis/UrbanSTL. -RBB |
