Why is everything American to be shunned according to your twisted logic? It's not like everything they do is "wrong" and the British way somehow "correct"

Holidays = Holy days = Specific Days that everyone is given to commemorate significant (nominally religious) events.

Vacation = Days you take off work normally to go somewhere away from home. Obviously not always shared by everyone else.

I get 11 Holidays and 25 days of Vacation. They're not one and the same.

Other than that who cares what term we use?

If we don't actively avoid the Americanization of things, we can't help but be sucked into the cultural hegemony they have.

Wonder how throughly Air Canada will absorb the entire Transat brand, assuming the deal goes through.

"vacation" is only a recent phenomenon in Canada, only have been used more commonly in the last couple decades. No one ever said I'm going on a "summer vacation" when I was in school, it was "summer holiday". Like "couch" having replaced "chesterfield", Canadian English has slowly been dying since the glut of US media and programming has been allowed to infiltrate our society by the CRTC since the late 80s/early 90s.

Jesus christ. Did an American fuck your wife and murder your father or something? I for one couldn't care less what the origin of a word is, if it makes sense to me I'll use it. So you can just piss off with your puritan jingoistic BS and die off first.

So Whatnext thinks i'm a Chinese agent and you think I'm an American one. This is hilarious.

Yes it is. I'm from NB and actually learned that there was "Canadian" spelling in University.

Anglo Canadians and Americans have behaved like one cultural block for 200+ years. It's absurd to start doing things differently for the sake of being different. I couldn't think of anything more pointless. For heaven's sake, it's our own culture.

More hilarity.

Pinus, I don’t know your post history or care to know but please stop harassing me via PM and seek professional help.

What's even more hilarious is that you are only showing my responses to yours, which is not surprising given your initiation of the whole thing.

Moderators: the entirety of the above page (393) seems to be way off topic. Please remove. Thank you! Back to Airports chat please!

So not only are you flying off the handle you're also delusional? Seeing as how I'm not replying to any of your bizzare over the top PMs to me. I'd ask you to feel free and post my non-existent replies but your crazy ass will probably make stuff up.

Wonder what WS is going to do with the 763 this winter? They are taking them off of Hawaii routes. Plus the 789 is replacing them to Europe. Are they leaving the fleet once the next batch of Dreamliner come in 2020?

AC Rouge is expanding sun flying W19:

Conversion to Rouge:
YOW-FLL
YOW-TPA
YOW-MCO
YOW-CUN
YOW-PUJ
YHZ-TPA
YHZ-MCO

New Rouge Routes (all 1x weekly)
YOW-VRA
YQB-PUJ
YQB-CUN

There are also other frequency adjustments, but mainly the increase for FLL from both YUL and YYZ.

Now mainline should be next.... or they should wait until they make sure the MAX is going to be back before the winter season starts...?

Does anyone else think the term holiday maker sounds awkward as opposed to vacationer?

About time YOW sun flying gets Rouged. Also about time YQB gets some sun flying attention from AC.

Presently its showing only on YYC-YYZ. Perhaps they'll be utilized on popular sun destinations this winter? I think WS has said the 763's are staying put, possibly until after they have received all 10 787s.

On another note, I noticed after that post that YYC-OGG actually increases to 5x Weekly on the 789 in March-April.
