Nice pic. By volume, Uptown reminds me of how Atlanta's core developed along the highway.

That'd be a beauty wouldn't it? It'll really be something when downtown/uptown connects with other high-rise districts like TMC!

I promise not to bitch about the changes as long as they reopen the Sky Lobby!

Memorial Park Update:

Quote:

The heart of Memorial Park’s new Clay Family Eastern Glades resembles a diamond ring in aerial views, with a tip of sparkling water atop its oval promenade. Indeed, a gem has been carved from 100 acres of rough.

Construction fences around a southeastern pocket of the nearly 1,500-acre green space will be removed by month’s end, opening up what is essentially a new park within the park. The first major project of Memorial Park’s long-simmering, long-range master plan — set to open the last week of July — has revived land that was previously inaccessible to the public.

“This was a degraded forest filled with invasive plants and drying trees, with soil that was nutritionally depleted,” said Memorial Park Conservancy director Shellye Arnold...

....From the ground level, the Glades looks like a love child of Hermann Park and the Houston Arboretum, combining manicured lawns, classical terraces and a lake with native wetlands, savanna and woods. Yet it also is very much a place of its own, honoring the history of the land and the city....

Really like this shot. Unsurprisingly the area situated around Minute Park (MLB), Toyota Center (NBA), Discovery Green, and the Convention Center has really taken off. Love they have the Texas lazy river in the shot.

With what money though? It's unfortunate but its slowly been crumbling.

JManc Jul 25, 2020 4:44 PM

^ Yea, that building has been on the chopping block for a while. The entire structure is about to collapse from what I remember.

Now that the US government kicked out the Chinese consulate, who will replace them? Mattress Firm? CVS? Keeping with the Chinese theme...Panda Express?
