This is awesome biggus. Thank you! I'll shut up now. ;)

combusean Jan 5, 2018 11:51 PM

What's the scope of projects?

Under construction, height ... ? There's like 9,313 lowrises in varying stages of planning, for example.

Classical in Phoenix Jan 5, 2018 11:56 PM

Great thread! Thanks for putting in the work.

I wasn't going to create a black and white criteria. I'll be happy to add what's notable, some things have significance even when not a zillion feet tall.

Obadno Jan 6, 2018 2:36 AM

Buiggus you are missing a lot of projects my man, barrister, ac Marriott, colliers, Hampton inn and residential, Willa, whatever that other one is called at Janice park

Thanks for starting this. I no longer live in Phoenix, but it helps figure out what the hell you're all talking about in the development thread ;)

biggus diggus Jan 8, 2018 4:52 PM

Added quite a few this morning, need to get some work done now.

Don't forget that barrister has its new renderings !

biggus diggus Jan 8, 2018 5:21 PM

I don't know where those are. This is a work in progress that I need help with.

RC14 Jan 8, 2018 5:23 PM

Thanks for putting this together. Now I can better follow the Phoenix threads

fawd Jan 8, 2018 8:08 PM

Really solid work, Biggus!

biggus diggus Jan 8, 2018 8:25 PM

I just noticed today walking to lunch that workers are putting up the 7th floorplate at Stewart and I think this means the first level of the building that isn't garage.

Does anyone here know the process of getting the crane out of the building? Seems awkward to have it stuck in the middle.

Generally, they mount a derrick on the top of the building to disassemble the crane and lower the pieces to the ground.

I also think that Stewart will be going much fast now as there is less concrete per floor for the residential portion vs the parking garage. So, we should see it going quicker at this point.

I think just the projects in the core and maybe projects in the outlying more urban areas (i.e. Biltmore or Kierland areas) will be good. We obviously don't really need to put a 3 story suburban apartment building out in Deer Valley on here. But anything South of Camelback to Jefferson and between the 7's I'm good with even if it's 4 stories.

nickw252 Jan 8, 2018 11:12 PM

Nice thread, this is really helpful. Want to add the tower proposal at 201 W. Van Buren?

biggus diggus Jan 9, 2018 9:38 PM

I will add it although that one looks about as insincere as they come.

Should have solid proposals at the very least with a rendering. Permits come and go.

Would be great if someone could mark all these buildings on a Google map. Maybe color code the pins to mark various states - in construction, permitted, planned, proposed, etc.

If someone wants to take the time to produce a linkable map with these projects on it and include me as an editor I'll be happy to post it and keep it updated, I'm just not feeling like taking on the task of the initial set up.

CrestedSaguaro Jan 11, 2018 9:01 PM

That would be a cool project. I myself am in the process of updating Wikipedia for Phoenix skyscrapers. That thing is nearly 3 years out of date.

I took a shot at this.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XV...mC&usp=sharing

I'm happy to tweak if people have suggestions. I just did yellow for proposed, green for under construction. And I only included the projects in the rundown thread, and copied biggus' descriptions to the map descriptions.

Biggus if you want to PM me an e-mail address I'll add you as an editor.

Good work going the extra mile!

There's only a minor discrepancy, the Churchill will be on the NE corner of Garfield and 1st st.

Ronnie aren't you a Phoenix transplant? Your enthusiasm cracks me up, but it's fantastic. I wish more locals had your level of passion.

What crane should we expect to see rise next (besides 2nd crane at Block 23)? My preference would be Barrister surprising us...

Im guessing the Marriot at AZ center, Derby is still on hold and according to the press AC Marriott is supposed to start construction this spring.

Or the Central Park east Residences which submitted some site approvals the other day.

biggus diggus Jan 12, 2018 7:19 PM

Derby isn't looking likely at all at this point.

Good question. I say Central Park East Residences. Then AZ Center Hotel.

The crane is up for The Link at Third Street and Pierce. It's got a bright "UEB" on the sides at night.

Haha, yea. I'm from Ohio. But I love towers, so I do as much as I can

Biggus may have a good idea at this point. I posted on the Derby thread that the Derby website has been down since at least Friday....maybe earlier. It is still down, so not sure what is happening.

It's a shame really. I think Derby could have built without a GPLET. They may have missed the bandwagon if they don't build like right now.

biggus diggus Jan 15, 2018 8:24 PM

As fawd said in another thread, anyone who hasn't started building already is almost certainly not going to.

Anyone whom doesn't have a project already in development****

We still have a couple more cranes to go up in 2018.

biggus diggus Jan 15, 2018 10:38 PM

That's what I mean...

nickw252 Feb 9, 2018 4:40 AM

I know this is very preliminary, but do you want to add: the pre-application for 14-story, 198 unit project at 3rd Ave./Fillmore, 601 N. 3rd Ave., given name "Aspire Fillmore Apartments". Applicant is CCBG Architects.

biggus diggus Feb 14, 2018 10:48 PM

Added Urban Living on Fillmore since a building permit has been issued. If anyone can provide a link to more info or renderings I'd like to add that as well.

Just wanted to say thanks for starting/maintaining this thread, Biggus!

biggus diggus Mar 1, 2018 4:50 PM

Updated to include The Fillmore even though this is subject to change and likely to change.

biggus diggus Apr 3, 2018 1:04 AM

Added new Collier Center condominium building.

Eventually we are going to be able to look back on this to see how many seemingly serious proposals never panned out.
