Yay, my favorite city in the South!

Quality representation of a fine city!

Great looking city!

Great photos! I love all of the old cathedrals. Such a great city with so much potential. What is the new building in photo 39?
I wish they could somehow move 95 over so it didn't break up the east side of downtown. |
I used to eat lunch in the City Hall observation deck every day during one summer in the 80s. I also climbed the fire escape to the top of this building once. It was terrifying:

Like the shots of Broad St and Carytown. Very nice.

Badass shot:

Amazing, amazing shots, man. The second one looking down into the capitol complex looks like it could be a postcard view. I'm glad I risked by sh%tty internet connection to wait this one out; it's why I've been avoiding a lot of large photo posts in the last few years since they end up crashing my browser and connection.
This is one of my favorite-looking cities of the South, too. This and Birmingham are great examples of what other cities of that region would have looked like if they'd ran with the opportunities afforded to the U.S. during the Industrial Revolution. It was also one of the first cities outside my own I was originally introduced to, here, when I first joined up given a prolific photographer of the city who was a forumer. |
That's a new vantage point. The city looks quite from those angles up on the observation deck than it does from most others.

Heart!

thanks y'all.

Great shots. I didn't realize there's an observation deck there. Very underrated city. Thanks for showing off one of the gems of the South.
|
Yet another city in the US that doesn't get alot of pub. Looks like it has a great stock of intact urban blocks.
I love perches like this, unknown to most and giving a great sense of the scale of the city. |
You're right

BTW, LSyd--Amazing photos! Few people know about our observation deck, and it's one of my favorite vantage points. Did you visit to see GWAR perform @ The National? |
The finest large city in the South.
|
Great pictures....! Thanks!
|
The Federal Courthouse looks nice! Thanks for the pictures. Shots of Richmond always end up being a good thread.
|
It looks like a European city with a lot of history.
