More debris came down from the tower after tonight's severe storm with tornado warnings for most of the region.

^ very nice, this crown closeup is exactly what i have wanted to see.
i still can't figure out what is going on there and has yet to be done? it's really turning out to be a challenge that is for sure. |

I was looking to see if I could find any visible damage (without getting too close). But couldn't really tell. I know they have been removing the damaged parts. Not sure where the glass fell from. |
Looks like a lot of the glass near the crane had to be removed/redone as you can see some panels that were there before are missing :( Hopefully it'll be externally complete by January and lit up soon!!

You're right, you have to look at a before and after to see it. https://a4.pbase.com/o12/06/102706/1...17_InPixio.jpg https://a4.pbase.com/o12/06/102706/1...16_InPixio.jpg Older look https://a4.pbase.com/o12/06/102706/1...71_InPixio.jpg |

Interesting how that pane of safety glass stuck together.
|
Looks like it's gonna be at least 2 months of a setback to get those panes recreated and shipped to NY! I suppose CPT will at least be externally done by the end of 2020 if we're lucky! Still can't wait

A New York Penthouse 1,000 Feet Above Street Level Fetches $50 Million-Plus The contract for an apartment at 111 West 57th Street is one of the biggest signed in New York since the start of the pandemic BY KATHERINE CLARKE DECEMBER 8, 2020 Quote:

I would rather be lower down & feel like I'm in the park rather than above it, although there are plenty of prewars for that. I wonder if any multi unit floors have been combined lower down and if that would be cheaper than the same square footage near the top.

the integrated flag pole up there looks like a spire to me.
yeah i'm going to call it a spire. |

^ Since it serves a function, it does not add to the structural height.
|
It would be awesome if they put a flag pole on each side.

I guess we usually talk about multi floor units instead of multi unit floors. Still, that duplex halfway up sounds ideal for me in this case. So long as it has a double height living room, a must for me.
As if I can afford it right now lmao. |

We do. But that's because most towers aren't this skinny. It really is as thin as they say. The most you get is one per floor. |

^ yeah that fog and sun combo the other day made for some epic sci fi type views -- it was really beautiful.
we were in hudson river park and the views of downtown and wtc had jaws dropping and people stopping in their tracks. |

This stinks. I'm reading gossip about the lack of union labour on the project being to blame. I doubt it's that simple.
They need to fix this before somebody gets minced. |
Even before its completion, its like things are at play to make sure this keeps getting delayed :( What other modern-day skyscraper has had more mishaps?
|
|
There are some absolute gems in the comments of that video. "This hideous building" or "these buildings create shadow canyons in the streets".
It's always fun to humiliate them. |
Can't please everyone lol. Here's to hoping Grand Hyatt will be a stunner.
