LH will be operating YUL-FRA for AC in the month of May, with an A333. This is on top of LH's own seasonal YUL-FRA, operated by CityLine A343, which resumes May 10.

Along with the YUL-MUC A359 service, this means from May 10 til May 31, there will be 3 LH flights into YUL every day.

CBSA isn't there yet.

Canada Customs Act requires you to go through customs upon arrival into Canada, no matter where you will be going thereafter.

In other news,

Corsair is converting ORY-YUL to year round. 5x weekly for most of the year, daily service during peak summer. Some welcomed news, considering the effect on YUL of MAXgate, WOWair going bust and Aer Lingus delaying YUL to 2020.

TAP finally received their first A321LR. Looks nice. They once again reaffirm their interest in launching YUL.

At YYC you can connect to the USA from an international destination without seeing a CBSA Officer. You can go straight to the US Pre-clearence area, as long as you have your boarding pass. (i.e. CDG-YYC-SFO). But if you fly the other way around (SFO-YYC-CDG) you would need to see a CBSA officer.

I think this is the same at YVR but not 100% sure. I know you can definitely skip the main CBSA inspection line and get redirected to a special connections area, but I've never done it myself so not sure if CBSA has a presence in that special area or not

Probably an agreement CBSA and the USCBP have with each other.

Seems like AC update India operation again...

Until the end of April, AC43 DEL-YYZ will become DEL-YVR.

From May till mid-June, DEL-YYZ will be non-stop again with weight restriction (this will be a hell of a long flight on a 789...)

From mid-June to mid-July, AC42/43 YYZ-DEL-YYZ will be suspended (I guess they need that 789 to sub in for the MAX flights?)

So they are not banking the airspace to reopen until at least mid-July? Or they are just using this as an opportunity to get that extra plane, since summer is low season for India anyways (?).

These flights in/out of India are now 14,000 km ULH segments due to the Pakistani airspace closure.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. The additional fuel/costs required must eat up a good chunk of the profits.

Canada-India being a low yielding market, any hiccup like this means cancelations are more than likely.

YCG just got $1.3 million dollars from the Feds for new runway lighting and a new electrical system. We have very few runway ights only those red ones mounted on orange and white masts and some hazard beacons on the mountain sides.
Wish I knew more about this stuff. PAPI is one of the new systems?

YCG already has PAPIs on both sides of the runway, but seems like they will be installing new ones.

They will also be adding a new omni-directional approach lighting system (ODALS) and a new runway identification light (AS) (which are uni-directional flashing strobe lights at each side of the runway threshold). Runway 15 already has AS. So most likely the new one if destined for runway 33.

Due to Pakistani airspace closure, AC's first routing choice out of DEL is now eastbound towards the Pacific. An eastbound DEL-YVR (14,000 km+ route, due to the need to go around the Himalayas) is shorter than DEL-YYZ.

Both YVR-DEL and DEL-YVR can be flown non stop, whereas DEL-YYZ cannot. That's probably the main reason why.
Ya the more research I did I realize it's more modern replacements versus new additions unfortunately.

Any idea why AC's online schedule can be outdated? For example, YYC-SEA is still showing despite being removed from the booking engine some time ago? I have seen others like this, but it's usually adjusted fairly close to the change in the booking engine, but this flight has been on the schedules for weeks (months even) after it was taken out of booking. Does this mean it will come back as available to book? Any AC schedule experts (you know who you are) please comment :)
