Beautiful thread and pictures! Thanks to you for sharing them.
I love the colours and architecture of Washington. Yes, it´s a monumental city, a very pretty capital. I´ve liked the colours and sharpness in all your pictures. Great job! Excellent result! Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain. |
You caught one of my favorite blocks of row houses in photo 60. It's N St NW between New Hampshire & 21st.
Nice collection of photos! We really do have some beautiful old architecture in this city! |
The Wash. Monument actually looks somewhat cool with the scaffolding. Maybe they should make it permanent and install some staircases so you can climb up the outside.

Got more DC and the greater area to come. Thanks everyone. |
They should take this time to enlarge the height of the Washington Monument to raise up DC's overall height limit. But anyway, good thread.

Ergo, there is not actually a single set height limit per se, but it's a formula that works to keep the Capitol and the Monument dominating the District's skyline. I like it. I can look across the river at Arlington for more of a "traditional" city skyline, or at any other large city in America. This is one of the things that makes DC unique. |

Thanks for great photos! :)
Washington is indeed monumental and looks real fine. |
Glad you had a nice time.
I still haven't been to that new capitol visitor center. |

Great set of pics. Thanks for sharing. I will be seeing a lot of Washington DC this weekend; especially the area around the Convention Center. Question about Photo 71: Is that stray current coming from underneath the subway? |
Quote:
shakman, that's not a stray current or electricity at all. It's an odd effect apparently caused by someone who was walking in the path during the exposure. I thought it was cool, anyway. :) |
