That press release is from 12 years ago. I worked the traffic in/out of YQB back during that time. Never remember seeing PD to YHZ. Im usually good at remembering old routes. I remember when DL feeder flew BOS-YQB. As you said, must not have operated that long, if at all... |
Some crazy Swoop deals on right now... many $43-100/one-way across Canada or to Mex/Cali/Flo.

Around 25 years ago.....Air Nova was doing YQB-YQM-YHZ on a Dash 8-100

I'm surprised there isn't a YQB/YQM route now. It would seem a natural, what with the cultural ties between Acadia and Quebec, the universities (Laval & UdeM), and the satellite medical school in Moncton affiliated with the University de Sherbrooke. |

As for DL, they should bring back YQB-BOS in summer. Also, YQB-ATL might be a good route for DL since there's a lot of quebecers going to various cities in Florida in winter. |

YUL November 2019 stats are out.
https://www.admtl.com/sites/default/...et_2019_EN.pdf Total: 1,359,435 +3.2% Domestic: 518,487 -1.7% Transborder: 338,966 +3.0% International: 501,982 +8.9% Total YTD: 18,714,863 +4.4% Quote:
1. JFK 29,184,889 (+3.0%) 2. YYZ 27,377,305 (+2.5%) 3. LAX 21,692,237 (-1.4%) 4. MIA 18,580,259 (+3.4%) 5. MEX 14,621,384 (+~2.5%) 6. PTY 7. CUN 13,682,731 (+~0.5%) 8. SFO 12,845,491 (+7.4%) 9. ORD 12,173,390 (+3.0%) 10. EWR 12,050,253 (+1.4%) 11. YVR 11,652,075 (+1.4%) 12. YUL 11,209,688 (+6.4%) 13. ATL 10,784,008 (+1.4%) 14. IAH 9,210,076 15. DFW 8,093,630 (+10.1%) Highlights: JFK and YYZ are miles ahead of the rest of the pack. Doesn't seem like that will change. DFW, SFO and YUL are the leading airports in terms of growth percentage in North America for last year. YUL has passed ATL, and is approaching YVR. LAX is in the red, although not by much. Based on full year figures, MEX has passed both PTY and CUN, and PTY has passed CUN as well, as a result of growth at CUN leveling off quite significantly in 2019. |

Canada will be adding messaging at YUL, YYZ and YVR aimed at passengers from China to report symptoms of illness to combat the mysterious coronavirus centred in Wuhan. The last thing Canada needs is another lethal disease from China like SARS, it will devastate our tourism and travel sector.

The best line of defense is and will always be the customs agent. That first question they ask ( where r u coming from?) will be very important in a case like this. They might need to brush up on their Mandarin though....;) |
