CAC Park looks wonderful. The pictures from the opening really show the potential of the waterfront. I too think the large patches of dirt look a bit odd, but I think it'll improve a lot once the trees fill out. I really hope the Coronado pedestrian tube happens. It's something SD could be really proud of! Something SD shouldn't be proud of: the circus Horton Plaza Park is turning out to be.

Folks that own older historic older homes on 29th and Ray streets are already organizing against it.

What a joke. He does it in the name of the environment, so people don't get upset. And he blames the developers because they're the ones who aren't obeying the law. I'm sure there's some good that comes out of what he does, but at what cost?

Laws are broken everyday (how many people exceed 70 mph on the interstate?), but there's an issue of the cost to enforce. The city/county has a limited supply of dollars to allocate toward public safety, so they accept that some lesser laws will be broken because it would cost way too much to enforce every minor infraction. Think it makes sense to hire 1,000,000 new officers (along with the equipment and patrol cars) to make sure everyone obeys the speed limit everywhere at all times? Of course not, that'd be way too expensive. But that doesn't mean the law isn't the law. And that doesn't mean public safety isn't important. It just means that we don't have an unlimited supply of money, and the city/county is doing the best it can with the resources it has.

Cory Briggs is forcing the city to allocate huge sums of money toward his agenda. Yes, he may technically be right most or all of the time. But that's not the issue. The issue is that he's single-handedly stalling development on a massive scale during a time when our economy is trying to recover from a crippling recession. It's not as black and white as Briggs makes it out to be...

The tide is finally turning on Corey Briggs. He's clearly becoming a liability to any "legitimate" suit, let alone representing these thugs at the coastal commission.
