CDG and FRA have gone double daily on and off, but I can’t recall ever seeing LHR go double daily, and i've been paying close attention to YUL's schedules since the late 90s. Could be I'm getting old. :slob: |
Found this from the early nineties. So maybe I’m not old enough !

YOW-LHR has been pulled out for the entire summer and winter. On top of that there is currently a 2nd daily YUL-LHR loaded. That’s kinda concerning. Also are AC delusional to think they can fill YUL-LHR twice weekly let alone twice daily anytime soon?

The extra flight from Montreal may be due to having to have a flight allocated to each slot at the Heathrow end until they are allowed to wave them or something. I expect the YOW flight will return once government is willing to authorize foreign travel again. The one thing the federal should do is implement similar laws to the US. The US requires that if federal government funds are spent on air travel the ticket under the code of a US based airline. |

2nd daily YUL-LHR operated in 1998*, 2002-2007 & 2011 *I'm pretty sure in 98, YUL-LHR was just AC866, and then switched to 864 in 99. If I had to guess AC was double on the route 2002-07 & 2011 Was briefly a YYZ-LHR flight in 2019. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/ACA866/history/buy |
I miss YEG's LHR on Canadian.
I once flew nose. |

Some milestones this month.
Last week, Air Canada marked the 70th anniversary of its Montreal-Paris route. First operated on April 1, 1951, by a four-engine, 40-passenger Canadair North Star, registered CF-TFO and operated by Trans-Canada Air Lines (now Air Canada). Flights landed at ORY back in those days. https://aircanada.mediaroom.com/2021...al-Paris-Route Also this month, KLM celebrates its 35th anniversary serving YYC and YVR. https://twitter.com/theaeronetwork/s...55041357991939 |
So, if Canada and France give St. Pierre et Miquelon permission to join the Atlantic Bubble, for residents of the Maritimes, this is how you can get there - without any need to isolate along the way:

They are pretty isolated.....and sure there is a chance the virus can get in by the back door. I believe there is only one flight a week between Montreal and St. Pierre connecting from Air France and hopefully all quarantine upon arrival. I don't know if the non-stop '737 from CDG will operate this summer or not. |
I'm shocked that Air St. Pierre operates a season flight from St. Pierre to the Magdalens, but they do not service Moncton (la Capitale de l'Acadie).

Moncton, you might actually be a position to push for that. Most of the reason they offer flights to St. John's and Halifax is for healthcare. Obviously there are family visits too, most francophones in St. John's are Saint-Pierrais, but healthcare is the main driver for the flight. It's completely different from why they offer Montreal.
