Eh, doesn't bother me. I think Hayden Butte in between all of this urban development is one of the finer things of Tempe. Not a lot of cities have this kind of mix.

Oh for Pete's Sake people, I just was saying the photo wasn't the best vantage point. I know what's been built, I love downtown Tempe. I live here, not gone 15 years, etc. Just. the. fucking. photo.

Oh. That was lost in translation.

It is a crummy photo to use as an advertisement. Sorry.

I was on an architecture firms website and they had these renderings posted for the hotel component.

Thanks for the photos!

It doesn't seem like much time as passed since I was buying a bong from Headquarters right on that corner. It sucked that it was a parking lot for so long, but it all seems worth it now.

Street level presence on University is taking shape. I think it will be very well done.

The fence is down around most of the Union. I think the pedestrian experience all around the building will be very good.

Not yet. That portion of the site is essentially all cleared, and Tempe's development projects map (http://tempegov.maps.arcgis.com/apps...6abf93b858f508) shows the Canopy building permit as having issued, so I would bet we can expect construction to start any day.

Article on the residential portion of Union being complete.

Has updated list of retail tenants, including two of which I was not aware:

Quote:

The ground floor retail and restaurant spaces will include Starbucks, Insomnia Cookies, Nekter Juice Bar, Tocaya Organica, an organic Mexican restaurant and Sauce Pizza and Wine. More retail tenants will be announced in the near future.
