Very good! I've been waiting for a photo like that. But I hope someone can take the same photo during the afternoon when the sun is shining bright so we can see more details. |

Crappy cell phone shot from Lincoln Park this afternoon. Looking more like the LA skyline.

I was by the Salesforce tower today - quite impressive!

The beauty of Pelli's architecture is in the details. The cladding reminds me of his beautiful JP Morgan Chase mini- tower down Mission St. |

Those details... my god I love this tower.
|
I wonder when Salesforce is going to top out.

I love the depth in that fascade. Infinitely more interesting than the typical wall of glass. And when looking at this building, one actually sees a building, not just wavy reflections of other wavily reflecting buildings.

The last rise took 7 days, whereas before, they were averaging a rise every 3.5 days. So, kinda hard to predict when the top-off is, but 11/12 is probably a good pick. |
Who wants to guess how they put a crown on top?? :)

This is shaping up to be a very pleasant surprise. I have to admit initially I didn't think this tower was all that unique or special based on the renderings. But as it's coming together, it is obvious this is not some boring, generic rehash. The windows and the facade treatment are meticulously detailed and world class. Will reserve final judgement until when it is 100% completed, but I think this has the potential to be the new crown jewel of the West Coast!
