well the smell there sure wouldn't be desirable

Prevailing wind generally goes the other way.

I'm up in that neighbourhood a few times a month and have never noticed any undesirable smell.

That pocket of homes North of Brampton St between Parkdale and Woodward have seen big value growth.

Seems like a good development to me, bringing in some increased density on what is essentially a brownfield lot.

Okay...

A bit of outside-the-box thinking from a group you wouldn't normally associate with such things.

Interesting.

I am glad they are embracing the area.

Good to see new development in the area.

The prevailing wind in Hamilton is west-southwest, but the east wind can blow for days at a time. Stinky! In Toronto around Woodbine beach, the Ashbridges Bay sewage treatment plant fills the air with the smell of ammonia but that didn't stop a large housing development from being built.

The Waterwoks -- Great name, it the draws attention to critical infrastructure that usually goes unnoticed by users.

It *is* so nice to see a sprawl builder thinking outside the box, Pete.
However, in the grand tradition of naming residential developments after what they destroy, shouldn't this one be called The Education Factory, or something like that? http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/images/smilies/yes.gif

Started doing some riding this weekend and passed by this for the first time since last summer and they made some nice progress.

I took some pictures but realized the shots provided from Google Maps is only a couple months old and looks pretty much the same as today:
