What the f**k
Yahoo actually converted the meeting time to my timezone. I thought it was 5:30 pm PST when it was actually f**king 5:30 pm EST. Oh boy damage control for me now. @Metro-One, please stay strong and keep going. FML |
You don’t have to worry so much, just relax :)
Your just giving them your opinion on the project. Enjoy the conversation. |

Interesting. Looks like the Salmon River Bridge will be 6 lanes, if you include the acceleration and deceleration lanes for the interchange immediately north of it.

These CBA (unionized) agreements the NDP mandates for highway projects in BC sure have the affect of:
1. Increasing costs by a substantial percentage (up to 70% in some examples). 2. Delaying and prolonging schedule for completion. 3. Reducing the scope and quality of the highway improvements. Isn’t that wonderful ? :hell: Really irritates me. |

I don't know why anyone in the interior would vote for the NDP. They have screwed us on so many occasions. This is just one more.

This is all I’ve ever found - but I haven't dug very deep:

Not on the TCH/hwy 1 project, but the Hwy 14 project:
Does anyone know when the Highway 14 realignment work will begin? The signs say "complete Summer 2022" and they seem to be wasting a perfectly good construction season in summer 2020 on this one. It feels like many of the BC NDP-driven projects have yet to truly get shovels in the ground. I can update that the McKenzie Interchange project on Hwy 1 in Greater Victoria is *nearly* finished (loop ramp and double-laning of the McKenzie to Hwy 1 Northbound merge), and they're doing geotechnical work on a left-turn flyover at Keating Rd along Hwy 17. Also, 4-laning of the TCH in Langford between Leigh Rd and Westshore Parkway is humming along (both BC Liberal legacy projects). |

Articles on highway projects 'scope-shrink' and 'budget creep' -- enough said? Brought to you by your NDP CBA. Plus, it sounds like the ongoing labour shortages were already having the effect of diversifying the workforce.

The first paragraph of that second article says it all:
“ But New Democrats seem to be going out of their way to make the ventures as expensive and time-consuming as possible.” It’s almost criminal. |
