Updated the rest. |
360 10th avenue has been revived and it's probably somewhere between 700 and 800 feet tall.
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=202568 Here's what was previously proposed. http://www.pbase.com/nyguy/image/98124065/original.jpg http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=131931 |
Christmas coming early to New York... according to this DOB filing, the Nordstrom tower at 225 West 57th Street will have an occupied height of 1550 feet, meaning that with a crown and / or spire this one could break the 1600ft / 500m mark!
Just found this... Quote:
EDIT: Iirc the Nordstrom store should take about 250,000 sf to 300,000 sf. This could explain the low floor count. |
Here's my updated construction status and timeline list, all heights posted discount any spires, but crowns and roof heights are counted.

Take a look here: NEW YORK | 225 W 57th St (Nordstrom tower) | 1,550 FT | 88 FLOORS . |

Amazing to see the once tallest building in NYC, the Empire State Building will likely be dropped to fourth tallest in a decade or so. A 2,000 footer is now realistically on the horizon. |

The news about 225 West 57th could be a game changer if everything works out. No messing around with an antenna or spires or anything like that, just boom 1,550(likely 1600+ in the end).
Anyone planning on topping that will have to go big, even looking at it from a world scale. The way the people were talking about the Grand Central Tower you know they mean business about making an impact. There are still some good locations for people looking to go big in the greater Hudson Yards area too. It now actually wouldn't shock me if we saw one or two realistic proposals up in the 1800-2000 foot range. |
Lets hope so! But if you look at the cancelled buildings you can see that not everything what is proposed will be build :(.

yes i know but Tower Verre, Grand Central Tower and the Girasole. Grand Central tower for example is planned to be finished in 2020 and if they don t find financing for Tower Verre before the next financial crisis ? But lets hope that they all will be built :) =)
