You learn something new everyday! I had never even heard of Karakalpakstan until today.

What a sad story about the Aral Sea

Same here! I had to look it up on Google Maps and Wikipedia. Glad to have learned something today!

Does anybody knows something about the CITY Karakalpakstan? Is it a living city or a ghost town? I am surprised trains from Russia and Kazakhstan stopps here.

Hi Michael! Karakalpakstan is not a city, it's an autonomous republic.
Trains from Russia and Kazakhstan usually stop in the capital of Karakalpakstan - Nukus.
