I think Austin is going through a similar change at the moment.

The disco chicken is an amazing piece of public art. Love it.

Also, Charlotte's downtown density is really respectable for a city with as much suburban sprawl is it has. Hopefully more mid and high rise residential will fill in some of the empty and parking lots in the next decade, giving the city a truly dense urban fabric.

Thanks for the comprehensive update.

Thanks for the update! Seems like we have two more buildings to go (Sierra/UNCC) and then we will be done for this round:) I am glad the Vue got off the ground before it could be stopped.

Also, the refitting/completion of The Park as a condo & hotel is still planned, plus the historic brick Hall House building has been saved once again from possible demolition. It is being refurnished to be used again as housing for the elderly:

Read an article here in the Atlanta paper that Charlotte was getting 25 million (plus 12 million local match) for a streetcar. This is great news for Charlotte. Anyone got a good map of the route?

foxmccleod Jul 29, 2010 8:30 PM

Lots of information here, including the grant application.

Charlotte Skyscrapers

My first 20 years were spent in Charlotte; I next moved to Tampa, FL. I am having trouble with all the buildings since there are no addresses listed. Would be nice if at least the name of the street on which the building is located would be listed.
Thanks for all the work put into all these pix. I am amazed at your expertise! Congrats.
