Further to the WS UK discussion, looks like only LGW is present in October. However it could still be possible they held off loading LHR until they announce it? (But I doubt it, chances are it ain't happening).

Both YYC & YYZ-LGW appear to be operating 2x weekly each.

Should be clearer when the full schedule appears tomorrow night.

hollywoodcory Sep 12, 2020 4:44 AM

Also KLM has updated its Winter schedule too.

YYZ - Daily 789/772
YVR - 4x weekly 333
YYC - 3x weekly 789
YUL - 3x weekly 332
YEG - Cancelled until March 28.

Tricky to run an international passenger flight from YEG, when you don't have permission to do so.

It's tricky to run international flights from airports that do have permission too. Just ask Calgary ! ;)

On another note, YUL released June an July figures.

https://www.admtl.com/sites/default/...et_2020_EN.pdf

June 2020

Total: 87,969 -95.2%

Domestic: 53,738
Transborder: 6,238
International: 27,993

July 2020

Total: 177,959 -91.5%

Domestic: 104,746
Transborder: 10,845
International: 62,368

That's twice now the month over month increase is over 100%. Encouraging.

KLM is doing fine at YYC and is even increasing to 4x weekly at the end of the month, it’s WestJet that’s had mixed performance :haha:

Speaking of which, here is WS’ updated October US/International plans:

International:
YYC-LGW 2x weekly
YYC-SJD 1x weekly from Oct 10
YYC-PVR 1x weekly from Oct 10
YYC-CUN 1x weekly from Oct 10
YYZ-LGW 2x weekly from Oct 8
YYZ-CUN 1x weekly
YYZ-MBJ 2x weekly
YYZ-KIN 1x weekly

Transborder:
YYC-LAX 3x weekly
YYC-PHX 2x weekly from Oct 9
YYC-PSP 2x weekly from Oct 8

Additionally the WS 787 makes its YVR debut on October 5 with 5 weekly YYZ-YVR.

WS to offer free COVID-19 insurance on all new bookings to Mexico, Caribbean (excluding the US), and Europe made on September 18 or later.

Air Canada Vacations made a similar offer, but only on vacation packages.

At a Region of Waterloo Special Council meeting this morning, it was announced that an exclusive operating agreement has been signed with Pivot Airlines between the Region of Waterloo International Airport and Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, and Windsor.

Pivot Airlines has signed an agreement with YKF to begin flights (Ottawa? Montreal?) once covid travel restrictions have been relaxed. I used to find Bearskin's YOW-YKF flights quite handy, back in the day.

...except in Saskatchewan, curiously.

Probably they don't have a license to offer insurance in Saskatchewan or there is something that does not mesh with Saskatchewan regulations.

The indication is Ottawa, Montreal, Windsor and Toronto...I wonder if for the latter they'd parter with FlyGTA out of YTZ? A Dash 8 seems like overkill.

I guess they'll connect YUL & YOW pax to YQG over YKF. It sounds like the Region of Waterloo want to reinvigorate their air service that has dwindled to just WS to YYC and WG down south. I wish them the best of luck. They should also look into a DH8 flight to YZR that recently lost all airline service with the pullout of AC.

Air Canada's also excluded Saskatchewan.

As for Air Canada, the airline also doesn't currently provide COVID-19 travel insurance for Saskatchewan residents because of the province's regulatory requirements.

FlyGTA did have flights from YKF to YTZ, but the service didn't last very long.

Brutal numbers...

YYC was -83.8% in July

YVR was -87.5% in July

At least we're back to being ahead of YEG in terms of passengers.

I would have hoped YUL would have been closer to 250k passengers in July.

YUL was in line with YOW in July in terms of percentage decline. It's clear that the western airports are faring better than the eastern, I think thanks in large part to Flair and the long driving distances that always beef up the west's numbers. Here's YOW August numbers, which are in line with YVR July:
