It looks pretty accurate to me. If you hold your hand in front of your face even it looks taller than the Empire State Building.

Eye level of the tower - 4th glass band from the top - should be 5 floors lower to match the horizon line where the bay water meets the land far beyond. The perspective is otherwise incorrect as shown. There should not be two different horizon lines unless the building horizontals are tilted, or the rendering of the building was raised up 5 levels relative to the background.

Don't they need to hurry up and get the windows installed on these towers before the rain starts pouring through or is that not an issue?

What do you think they do in New York City when there is three feet of snow?

An inch of rain is not going to affect an unfinished skyscraper..it will be dry within a few hours.

We sometimes forget they build skyscrapers where it rains all year round just fine.

I was just trying to bring some humor to the forum. :haha::D

All joking aside, it will be interesting to see the impact of 3 inches of rain between Friday and Sunday, if we indeed get that, on the city's many construction sites and especially on Salesforce Tower.

The skier's much better than the boarder.

I think you're missing your calling on the Seattle construction threads.

I guess you're just saying that there could be delays if the weather conditions are bad enough. Safety is a priority, and construction contracts usually permit additional time and money due to inclement weather, especially on large projects. But then, I suspect you already know that.

View from Japan Town

I took this pic from Post St. in Japan Town last Friday. I drive this every day and this thing looks like, when the cranes are placed right, a giant robot---fun to see. It's dwarfing all other buildings from this view.

{How do you paste a personal pic you've taken onto this?}

Can anyone guess how tall it is now? I'm thinking between 850-875 ft.

I believe it is just about to surpass the Transamerica Pyramid at 853 feet any day now. I'm still waiting for some sort of an announcement. I'm not sure if the weekend weather will cause a delay.

Not all of the outer forms are raised yet, so when that's done (which should be today), you can call it:

(59-1)*15=870 feet (to the top of the forms)

Until then, it's 855 feet (to the top of the forms).

Where are we with the framing? Floor 52?

Hmmm

Just make it 1100 feet and tie it with Wilshire Grand. Enough of this "tallest on west coast" nonsense. L.A. is willing to share the title. Truce? Besides, everybody knows U.S. bank/Library Tower is still the real champ (highest occupied floor, highest roof).

I say put a 150 ft spire on it. I don't understand SF's gripe with spires...they actually look pretty cool. I think it could make SF tower a lot more striking.
