Please upload pics! I'm glad to hear its over 1400. This will be a perfect book end to the Central Park south skyline.

1,423 feet? Not bad at all, we'll take that! 225 W 57th Street would still be the tallest to roof in the city! :)
|
I'm just hoping it's not a flat roof.

I think these 3 towers are close enough to be seen as a trinity, they'll work together as a group. The first two give us nice, distinctive marks on the skyline above a sea of boxes. I think the tallest towers should. http://www.pbase.com/nyguy/image/152655079/original.jpg |
This is crazy! I can't believe all this happened since the last time i logged on. I would've went to that meeting. Guess it wouldn't let the Steinway tower have its day lol. This has to be one of the most exciting days on this forum! By the way I'm with NYGuy when it comes to the spire, if u wanna be in the conversation with the ESB and the Chryslers as the next big thing in NYC, you need yourself a spire.

Look at it this way. One57 and 111 are flat looking north/south.

I can't imagine Adrian Smith screwing it up, so I'm not worried with a flat top. He'll make it work to it's advantage.

Overall the important thing is that this tower is moving forward, and should be under construction within a matter of months. There's a lot to digest with all of the skyscrapers in the works. It should keep us busy for the next few years, to a decade or so as other towers kick off after these near final stages of construction. |
I haven't seen a render yet, but the descriptions are paving the way for another interpretation of a box. The height is nice, but won't be noticeably taller than 432 park.
With all the talk about huge heights and iconic design, I'm thinking this may be disappointing for someone like me who had really high expectations. So far, I'm thinking that 107 & 111 is going to be the iconic tower of central park. It won't be a great deal shorter than this tower so it should stand out nicely. |
I might be reading too much into it but I'm not sensing a lot of enthusiasm from those guys at the meeting. Hope I'm wrong
|
So I'd guess that if one were to eyeball 225's height on the renders of 111 here, it would prolly hit the top of the pic.

@NYGuy;
But wasn't 111's height finalized at 1300' to the top design element? That'd be a 123' diff. |
