I mean not just the supertalls, it seems the hype for the city has died out.

Could be the impact of oil prices. The airport is still going great guns...

Well, if there's any consolation to this, is that Dubai spent billions building all of these supertall residential towers, which were the tallest in the world and of eloquent design.
New York builds one crappy box and it takes the title right out of their hands. Difference? Dubai is trying to make up for its depletion of oil reserves by switching their income over to tourist trapping. New York is funded by the state, and wealthy families who have their names written in its bones. Don't get me wrong, tourism has done wonders for Singapore, so I expect the same for Dubai. However, I highly doubt that many millionaires would want to take up residence there (unless the condo is to be used as a weekend getaway). Who am I kidding. Mile-high skyscrapers and different tiers of traffic are sure to follow. |

Does anyone have an up to date map and/or drawing of the marina area with the building locations on it? I remember an old one was available but it is out of date.
|
The latest Ken Block gymkhana video has some nice shots of the Marina in it (also some crazy driving too ;))

This city, called Dubai, is definitely one dysfunctional city. |

Dubai is the ultimate playground. Monaco as well. |
It's a sort of Miami on steroids, but not done on the cheap. Better buildings, better designs, and better airport. These arabs dont' mess around.

You are an idiot that clearly has a limited knowledge regarding Dubai but clearly wants to act otherwise.
