WH's Photothread
I will be posting all Halifax/development pictures that I take in this thread.
Due to the rain and being quite busy, I have not done as much I would have liked to. I'll try to get Trillium pics this week. http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/PA310152.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/PA310151.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/PA310150.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/PA310149.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/PA310148.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCF0430.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCF0429.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCF0428.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCF0427.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCF0425.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCF0423.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCF0422.jpg |
Great photos!

Thanks for the pictures. Garden Stone Place looks pretty good despite the precast. 5505 Falkland looks weird but is a definite improvement.
Some suggestions of sites: -trillium -south bland street? has this started? -view down Hollis looking south that includes the Vic. Would also be interesting to see a view down Morris Street from a couple blocks up. -new office building at I think Agricola and West? -All Saints residential -Gladstone Hopefully we'll soon have another round of construction sites - Nova Centre and the library. Other possibilities would be the Salter Block, the Alexander, and the new commercial building on Spring Garden Road. |
South Bland didn't look like it has started and there has been little to no movement on Gladstone and All Saints.
I'll grab shots of the new office building on Agricola and the Trillium. |
Wow, great shots. I can't wait to see pics of the Trillium. I'll be checking this post often. ;)

Looking good so far. :)
Defenitely got to get to the Trillium. A warning though, once you see it you may not leave the area for an hour. I think even I may have to put on the sneakers on Friday, get a hotdog in Victoria Park, and wander around the block a couple of times. Out of curiousity how long are you home for? |
What street are those beautiful brick townhomes on? Gorgeous! And the starbucks - is it a downtown location?
|
The townhouses are one street down from Gottingen. The curved condo building and wooden building under construction are on Gottingen itself. The Starbucks building is in the Hydrostone area farther north.
One of the nice things about Halifax is that the "inner city" type older walkable areas are much larger than you would expect for a city of that size. |

Great photos! I've gone by "Garden Stone Place" a couple times in the evenings lately. I love it, it fits perfectly. I'd loove to see the St Joseph's development built so that area might turn into a solid little neighbourhood hub.

Thanks for the appreciation!
Here are some Trillium shots from today from an angle I don't remember seeing: (excuse cellphone quality) http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01119-1610.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01119-1609.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01119-1609.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01119-1609.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01119-1608.jpg |
Some of 6955 Bayers Rd.
This area has to have the worst use of land ever... in behind the houses to the South of this is just a huge empty area with a fence that disconnects it from the rest of the neighborhood. This is a weird trend in Halifax and we need more urban pathways between neighborhoods. Sorry about the BlackBerry quality... I need a camera like DJs! http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01130-1641.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01130-1639.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01130-1639.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01130-1640.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01130-1641.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...01130-1641.jpg |
