Get it Phiily...we have a chance to be at the forefront in these fields as more research is done locally and treatments come to fruition...

Haven't seen any local news outlets pick up this press release yet, but it only came out this morning. This was first announced a year or two ago but has been completely quiet since. The new rendering looks like the scale of the project has been upped a bit. This is an out-of-town development team, so very much direct competition for tenants looking at 3025 JFK and 3151 Market at SY.

This is incredible! Awesome news! It's also 13 Floors (per the rendering), so I'm going to have McGrath create a thread for it.

Canno's work is always top notch. The design/materials are always fantastic.

PhilliesPhan Feb 23, 2021 8:10 PM

I'm really excited for this one to break ground, as I'm a near-ish neighbor. I've seen demo permits posted on the property since late October, but I'm still hopeful that this one will rise! The combination of this, the building rising at the NW corner of Broad and Spring Garden, and *fingers crossed* 523 N Broad will really liven up the North Broad corridor!

Crazy the amount of action happening at this intersection.

It's crazier still how much surface lot was at this intersection. Holy cow.

They certainly took some liberties but I don't find it offensive.

Awesome adaptive re-use across the board. Beautiful project and helps the community. I love this little stretch in NoLibs.

MLK as a pedestrian only path

I'm not sure if this was mentioned but I saw a petition to keep MLK automobile free: https://bicyclecoalition.org/petitio...-of-mlk-drive/

I think it's a great idea and partially returns Fairmount park to what it was meant to be before 76 cut through it. Does anyone know where this goes right as MLK is about to cross the river? It's always filled with trash and 76 debris.

https://i.imgur.com/xaagAtSl.png

If you look from above, it looks like more valuable potential space for a riverfront path.

I don't, but did want to remind folks that the Maps app built in to Windows 10 allows for nice rotation and tilting to better visualize a location. With touchscreens, changing the heading (thumb and index finger rotation) and pitch (and two-finger vertical swipe) is simple. The imagery is typically older than what's in Google Maps, but it's still useful.

This screenshot shows an apparent gap (path?) that extends through the tree line from Spring Garden toward the I-676 curve.

This one shows how tight the curve is to the retaining wall along the river. A potential path couldn't get too far without extending over the river.

Has anyone here been down that way?
