LEGO Skyscraper 64 Floor Office Building

I have been a fan of skyscrapers since a child. I'm also an adult fan of LEGO. One of my visions of a skyscraper was finally realized in LEGO form. I planned the structure on LEGO Digital Designer and brought it to life. Behold! 64 floors of LEGO. This model is quite a bit more involved than some of the models that you'd see at Legoland. Most of those models are hollow. This model is not. It contains elevators shafts in a central core and stairwells with stairs in them. There were over 16 thousand bricks used in this model. It stands at 5'3" and weighs in at over 80 Lbs. What really sets the model apart from the crowd is the custom made LED lighting system that Iv'e installed to bring it to life. There are over 1100 LED's in this model with over 1500 solder joints. A 12VDC power supply is connected, consuming just over 90 watts. The design features an open 4 floor lobby with a mezzanine on the 3rd level. The building would be at 1/2 mini-figure scale and would stand at over 900 in real life scale. This is my first post here after years of lurking on this site. I hope all of you who enjoy LEGO, architecture and skyscrapers will also enjoy this post.

Looks like President Business would approve.

Also, I spy lots of National Geographics on the bookcase. Good stuff.

I tried to make one with a Meccano set one time.

ArionTK421: Very impressive lighting scheme.

A number of other skyscraperpage forum members have also built models of famous skyscrapers using LEGO. As for myself, I have built a few minifig scale models of Detroit's old skyscrapers. You may want to check out this skyscraperpage discussion thread:
LEGO Skylines
It has over 70 pages of posts stretching over 8 years.

Note to moderator(s): You may want to move this thread to the Urban Art > Skyscraper & Urban Art folder.

Damn what a beast. That's really cool! The lighting looks great and I like the little balconies at the top!

That's amazing. I love how something like this actually has the practical use of being a floor lamp. :haha: The lights reflecting on the wall from the model is neat. It must create a neat atmosphere in the room.
