That would be astounding.
|
Is this the same proposal as the North Point Tower?

This is the same block of this once-upon-a-time proposal, right?

Hey Mark, thanks for terrifying me (:)) but isn't that block you linked to the one with the building with Metrovino in it? Across from the Hoyt parking lot aka future North Pointe Tower?
|
The block Mark linked to is the location of a datacenter of some sort. MetroVino is one block east of there and on the opposite side of Northrup. The Hoyt parking is between Northrup and Overton between 10th and 11th.
The developer, according to the tiny bit of article the DJC lets you see, is someone named "Oseran Investment Co". |
I was one block off...It looks like this is the right block: http://www.portlandmaps.com/detail.c...&seg_id=136379

I understand theres no height limit north of Lovejoy in the Pearl, but is there any logic to heights in the Pearl? Heights the furthest away from downtown and transit service? A bunch of new adjacent 6 story buildings then all of a sudden a 24? Im all for increasing density in the heart of our cities, but this seems a little crazy to have such a height difference.
|
I don't have a problem with a building with 24 stories in this area, in fact I think it's pretty awesome. I just wish more of these 6 story buildings were in the 10-15 story range.

However, we HAVE gotten some decent heights in the Pearl - the Brewery Blocks and the Casey are good examples. I think the Pearl will be slowly maturing over the next 50+ years... |
YEAH! I can't wait to see what The Pearl will be like when I'm 71! :P

Whoa. This is new, right?
Unico Properties proposes Pearl District tower (access required) by Lee Fehrenbacher, DJC Unico Properties has scheduled a pre-application conference with the city to discuss plans for an approximately $64.5 million, 26-story tower at 1301 N.W. 12th Ave. http://djcoregon.com/files/2013/08/swview-278x300.jpg |
^This is new! Do you have a link? Is this an office tower or condo/apartment?
|
the '70's called. they want their building back.
|
Anyone remember what other projects Unico has been involved in? The name is so familiar...
I hope this is an early - very early - vision. It looks very 70's, and not in a good way. BTW, a while back someone asked for a map of projects in NW, which I duly provided. I've been keeping it up to date and added all the projects I'm aware of (except for St Johns). Link here if you're interested. There's so much to keep track of. |
