I remember stumbling upon that thread a few years ago. The consensus was that an airliner would bounce off somehow, and that the carnage would be mostly in the plaza & streets below.
Of course, industry professionals or not, few knew the tower's perimeter columns were only connected together by four bolts at that height, and equally few truthers seem to accept it today. All the plane has to do, was defeat those bolts... Is Airliners.net no longer used by pilots? Last time I was on there was the hundreds of pages discussing the Malaysian 772 that went missing. |

It still has some but it is a shell of its former self. In the 2000's it was the go to place to discuss Aviation. But in 07 it was bought out by a company, one of the things they did was make it free again. For a wile the forms had a small fee to make an account just to keep the discussion quality as high as possible. This as well as a bunch of other factors caused the forums to decline to where they are no longer the best forum. r/flying has a lot of high quality discussion, and APC which to be fair was fairly active before airlines.net decline. But is grown a lot since then but it is VARY toxic. And do you have a link to the info about the WTC bolts? I have not heard that before and that is interesting. |

is the crown essentially finished? it doesn't look so elegant with all the cross bracing showing through, although I suppose it provides a certain high-tech touch... still looks like there are some pieces missing....

I know developers will be following the slightest change in the market.

First post on this forum so just getting used to it... Anyway I believe I read here a while ago a couple posts about the crown lighting and if it will have what’s in the render. I found an article by the lighting company L’Observatoire International who teamed up with Sh0p and it appears they will do the crown lighting strands. The broad glass sides will have vertical strands of lights hanging in front of the steel X braces, these will sparkle which is super cool. The tarra-cotta will be lit to match the twist of the blocks. Not sure if the terracotta lighting will be moving or stationary but it will change with the moon cycle. As for renders the lighting will appear to be white and luckily not multicoloured like the Empire State suffers from now. It will be cool to see this whole tower lit in such a tasteful way.
L’Observatoire International written article, undated and no author mentioned, titled “111 West 57TH Street” https://lobsintl.com/project/111-west-57th-street |

Yeah, that's the one we've been going with, in regards to the lighting. But until they finish up that crown, we'll just have to wait and see. |
