It appears there is, as seen in this photo in particular, an unexpected but interesting dialogue between 1717 Broadway and this tower that I quite enjoy. :tup:

What are the chances of someone buying the rights to put an antennna on here? Surely someone must want to?

Thanks for posting all these great pics. This one really brought up some old memories as a kid riding the train down into the city and catching the 1st glimpse of the skyline. Most of us probably can relate.

^ Do we have any Skip Elevator experts in here? How is it possible that the cross-bracing "columns" at the bottom of the skip can hold 1500' of skip structure above it? Or are the loads distributed laterally into the adjacent structure?

I do not get it.

I hope it comes off better than it looks now.

It is a very uninteresting design and seems to just want to dominate the skyline without really contributing much beyond interrupting the flow -

like a very prominent off-key note in a composition.

The window cleaning rig that dominates the roof is unfortunate :(
