Looks dead but impressive buildings.

nice photos:)

Cool, thanks for the pics.
I see a tower crane, what's being built I wonder? |
^^The crane looks to be for a building of 5 or 6 storeys, most likely residential. They're still working on the foundation. I would have included a construction picture, but I forgot to recharge my camera battery before this trip, so I had to choose my shots carefully. Actually these are all the shots I got except three that didn't look good. Unfortunately the camera totally ran out of juice before I could get some pics of the new Toyota plant being built on the eastern outskirts of town. After stagnating for many years, the new auto plant is already starting to spur growth in Woodstock.

only been through on the train. thanks for the tour. incidentally, those s-w towns really do have a specific look don't they? maybe it's the yellow brick.
|
nice old building stock. too bad this isn't in use for something.

wow... goodlooking downtown. some really great buildings. Looks clean, like the town has cleaned it up recently. I only think of the Woodstock sprawl, will have to get downtown next time. thanks
|
i never want to miss another one of your photo threads... my goodness, your region of ontario rich with architecture and gritty appeal
|
I enjoyed seeing this thread. One of my ancestors lived in the Woodstock area after the American Revolution (since he was loyal to the British), so that's the only Canadian maple leaf on my family tree.

It looks like it could be in West Virginia or Pennsylvania except that area lacks the large hills we have.
|
nice place
|
Looks nice. Love those old buildings in there.
This block seems rather long. Or it looks like that. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...tock/00052.jpg |
someone should put those abandoned buildings to use! nice shots!
|
Thanks for the tour!
|
Thanks for the replies. I've driven through Woodstock a thousand times and I've always been impressed with its architecture.

More good Ontario architecture. Thanks for the tour.

Wow, beautiful place. I love the brick architecture.
I particularly liked this one. Was there ever anything in those recesses, such as tile work? Love it! http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...tock/00035.jpg |
Wow very nice downtown.
|
While the downtown does have some nice old buildings (looks like the coffee shop is in the best shape), I'm more impressed by the churches and govt (?) bldgs. Thanks for the tour flar.
