What?!? What's this? Lol. Yet ANOTHER China uber-tall comes out of nowhere. And it's in Suzhou. And just happens to be gunning for China's tallest building. So nuts, this country.

It's been in the works for at least a year, at least that's how long SSC has known about it.

Sadly, no renders have been released. I just made a thread for this because the height was finally revealed, although I suppose the height may end up being different in the end. The tender does give a range after all.

To me, proposal 2 is far and away the best.

The things I'd do for proposal 1 here in NY...

If they remove the pool and just keep the "eye of a needle" shape, proposal 2 will be a show stopper.

ECADI wins Suzhou Zhongnan Center—the highest building in China

After fierce competition with many competitors such as TJAD, CAG and BIAD, ECADI won the bid for domestic design company of Suzhou Zhongnan Center on October 20, 2012.

Suzhou Zhongnan Center is located in CBD core area, west of Jinji Lake at Suzhou Industrial Park with planned construction height of more than 700m, 138 floors above ground. Its total building area is nearly 500,000 m2, containing functions as super five-star hotels, office, commerce and serviced apartment. Except the Middle East, it will be the tallest building in China and even the whole world.

Those things in China are amazing, but this is just too tall. I don't like when something looks lone in a skyline. Who in the world does? So if they want a decent skyline, they'll only have to build a whole cluster, like a couple of dozens of megatalls like this to complement it. :D
