This means AC/RV will be launching the following intercontinental routes in 2016. Pretty impressive. Althought the timing for all those Eastern European runs from YYZ couldn't be worse.

What's wrong with the EE routes from YYZ? The timing is inconsequential for connections as this is all for VFR traffic.

Just booked two flights with Harbour air between YVR and Sechelt. Looking forward to completely avoiding the hell that is traveling through Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay. Cutting down a 3 hr trip at best to 20 mins. Can't wait. Has anybody here used them before?

Yep, but only from the downtown Vancouver location, not from YVR. Harbour air is fantastic though, very professionally run operation.

Getting to the south terminal can be a bit of a drag, but they have a shuttle that will pick you up and take you there.

If you have the time see if you can fly back into the harbour on your return flight then take the Canada line to YVR. On a sunny day it's a pretty spectacular landing, similar to Billy Bishop except you come in even lower and closer.

That's huge. Strange that it's winter seasonal yes. I wonder if it is just a testing phase and they will go year round if the first several months go well.

Assuming Air Canada has evaluated correctly new markets going forward, it's shows that smaller ULH wide body aircraft over thin routes allow for many more point to point routes.

I think Winter makes sense. That is when thei European service is reduced (extra aircraft available) to tryout new routes. I don't know how important the holiday season is in Indian culture relative to family travel, but Air Canada may also be responding to that. At least the press release suggests that is the case.

DEL-YVR will be almost as long as YVR-SYD. It is by no means an instant success.

Although the great circle distance between the two is only 11,160 km, the actual route flown will be more like 12,200 km, due to the Himalayas and ETOPS 180 restrictions.

That is one long "VFR" flight.

I've never had a problem at LAX when i fly direct from YVR. The car rental lot distance is a hassle but AC has one of their few out-of-canada MLLs there and it's always an oasis compared to united club.

I normally stay in the santa monica area when i am in LA and going to LAX via Lincoln is really fast and easy. If I had to stay in Burbank/Pasedena/OC however, I can see LAX being a real headache..

I think the difficult is making connection. It has been a while, but I remember having to go for a walk outside to get from Air Canada to United.

I have done United to United coming back from Australia. Other than the customs lineups and being grump after being on a long-haul United flight the United to United connection was ok.

Kind of low... expected above 5% in March.

How did you find the customs/immigration line-ups here?

Of course here you have to do it on arrival and departure... Sometimes departing immigration can be just as bad or worse than inbound.

I did not find boarder control Australia that bad. Not quite as quick as passport control at a lot of Europe destinations, but not that bad.

That it does.... Currently over Baffin Island... ETA is now 1831.
