The groundbreaking was supposed to happen early 2022. Then it got pushed to April 2022. Now it's pushed to July 2022. Frustrating, but at least it's something good, a TOD with no parking minimums and required unbundled parking!

Now SANDAG please oh please forget about subsidizing free transit and save up that money to instead increase Green Line frequencies as soon as possible. Otherwise everyone at Riverwalk will drive for short trips within Mission Valley because no one's waiting 15 minutes for a 10-15 minute Trolley ride.

Thanks for posting this! I drove by this site the other day and went on Google maps to try to find where it was. It took me awhile to realize it was 800 Broadway I was looking at, which will be a nice-sized building once complete. That whole part of the eastern core (Broadway to B Street) is really going to be dense once all these projects are complete. The recently-completed Diega development next door is also huge.

Cosmopolitan decided to sell 150 suites directly to doctors (not investors) for an average $166,500 for a roughly 490-square-foot medical suite. Saul said 60 percent have sold. The other 50 suites will be rentals.

Cosmopolitan Health will add to a growing list of skyscrapers that have transformed the city in the last decade. In addition to Cosmopolitan Health and Sayan Campestre (both around 404 feet), NewCity Medical Plaza is 387 feet and two residential towers under construction will join the list of the city’s tallest buildings: Link Residential (393 feet) and The Landmark Tijuana (390 feet).

“The city is growing incredibly quickly,” said Chris Clark, director of the Urban Land Institute’s San Diego-Tijuana branch. “The city is definitely going vertical.”

Wow, seriously? VERY underwhelming. Those buildings look like they're straight out of the UTC area. All the time, effort, and money to redevelop this land and this is what you end up with? It's hard to believe.

The pedestrian plaza runs North/South, parallel to Harbor Dr. & Pacific Hwy. per the marketing brochure. https://retailinsite.net/downloads/Downtown_RaDD.pdf

I'm curious which will be more true to final product, the 3D model or the marketing material. I don't find either disappointing, especially considering what could have been if they built the original Manchester Pacific Gateway designs.

Yeah I was definitely getting UTC vibes from the new designs, but I think the massing hasn't changed from what was originally proposed. I definitely dislike the building directly in front of the Navy HQ. The one to the left isn't great either, but at least it has height. They are both incredibly awkward looking. Why not give them an undulating, but modern, wavy facade to match its waterfront location?

Just in time for the economic collapse that is finally starting. I guess they will say "well we will build it during this depression and by the time it finally opens we will be coming out of it".

Obviously tech is getting hammered how do you guys think the Horton Plaza project will be affected by this? Will they get tenants :shrug:

I saw this one pop up on a Vintage San Diego facebook group (they were very upset, with the feeling reflected in the second image). But I really like it. Located at 301 Spruce Street, it's 162 units with ground-level commercial. 17-stories, 180+ feet

I don't have any problems with the project itself but I think it would be better if there were a higher % of affordable units allocated.
