I gave this one its own thread in the proposals, but here's a new proposal for the east end of downtown:

A few more updates...

New condo proposal slated to go about 2 blocks away from the ICCU building in the previous post (image from the Idaho Statesman):

Boise State master plan features a number of new buildings, including two more along Capitol (image from Boisedev.com):

And while not Boise related, Garden City continues to add density with multiple projects in the same neighborhood between 5 and 8 floors. The neighborhood is along the Boise river, about 3 miles from downtown Boise.

The latest is a 6-floor condo just down the street from a proposed 121-ft tall hotel (image from Idaho Statesman):

I'm liking the facade. Could end up being a nice, classy addition.

This is a great location along the Greenbelt.

Before this was The Safari Inn, it was an attractive historic building aka The Grand Hotel. Some of the historical architectural elements are still visible.

Thanks, Sawtooth!

Can you check your photo files, though? They're showing up massive on my screen.

You're welcome.

There were issues over the weekend with Photobuckets server and all of my photos were blown up in size. I checked again and they are sized properly: width=1024&height=678&fit=bounds

Per Photobucket, try clearing your browser, cookies, cached data, etc. and then the photos should display as the correct size.

didn't work for me. :( tried on two computers and a tablet, but got the same result.

since you're posting big photos, here's another one.

Strange, did you close the browzer and reopen it after clearing the data? I just had a friend I'm with look on her phone and they are displaying at the correct size.

Photobucket recently updated their website and app and then had server issues.

The Home2Suites hotel is nearing completion:

There are three other projects right next to this currently under construction--all either 7 or 8 floors, which will add a little density to this area that was recently 1-story buildings and surface parking lots.

seems like whenever one crane comes down, two more go up.

the two in this image (taken by trails) are for an 8-story condo and 7-story apartment building. there's also another 7-story apartment going up right next to the red crane on the left, so there may be one more crane yet to come.

new, 12-story senior housing/office/retail/parking proposal for the south side of downtown.

:previous:

The 12-story project above just received unanimous approval by Boise's urban renewal agency to move ahead.

Developer is hoping for design approval later this fall, groundbreaking in 2021 with completion in 2023.

Also, Sawtooth shared a photo showing the progress of the 11th and Idaho building, which will also include a new urban park on the north side of the block:

Hopefully this building will start a trend of adding more density to the west end of downtown, where there are currently a ton of surface parking lots.

Boisebro Sep 28, 2020 7:14 PM

the ICCU tower on the east side has been redesigned and reconfigured to meet neighborhood concerns. It flops the two towers so the taller one is on the north side, and adds more housing to the south tower.

design has not yet been approved, so additional changes may be yet to come.

As seen on Boisedev

A couple of blocks north of the new 11th and Idaho building. Still just in proposal stage but nice to see the city expanding out.

Boise’s P&Z says no to proposed 16-story downtown tower

Boisebro Nov 12, 2020 3:26 PM

here's an updated rendering of the ICCU tower that was rejected, though the developer still is pursuing meeting the P&Z criteria and redesigning:

also, nice shot of the 11th and Idaho building as it nears completion. work on the urban park next to the building has begun as well:
