It's pretty obvious the Ti-cats were using tickets distributed instead of actual attendance since last season. There was always very little variation in the number regardless of how it looked in the stands. This last game had quite a lot of empty seats, and yet the number barely changed. Actual attendance probably sat at around 20k.

Agree, I have seasons seats, and there has been noticeably fewer people each game... don't know how much longer they can keep pretending they're sellouts

Shania Twain impresses Bouchard, Pospisil much

Shania Twain will headline the US Open opening ceremony on Monday night in New York. And she has a couple of big fans in fellow Canadians Genie Bouchard and Vasek Pospisil who have fond memories of listening to the Country music sensation growing up.

The lower bowl of BMO Field has been mostly sold for Canada's friendly against Jamaica on Saturday. Upper deck seats now being sold.

Would the SK@EDM game be the highest (single) game attendance this season for the CFL?

I don't have numbers on me right now but I believe you're correct. Edmonton typically sets the high water mark given that Commonwealth's capacity is so much higher than other stadiums in the league.

And it typically happens either against Saskatchewan right at this time of year, or at the Eskimos home game vs. Calgary that either precedes or follows the Labour Day game.

Scotiabank will be taking over the naming rights of the Air Canada Centre in Toronto starting next July. $800M over 20 years. This is ten times the figure Air Canada has been paying annually since 1999 ($4M/year versus $40M/year announced today.

Quite a few empty seats for the Canada Jamaica friendly in Toronto. Quite surprising considering the large population of not only Canadians but Jamaicans in Toronto.

They had originally only been selling seats in the lower bowl for the game and had opened up the upper section on the west stand a few days ago. 21,724 is a good crowd for a friendly but I wouldn't consider it great by any stretch.

"It marked the second-highest crowd for a Men's National Team international soccer match in Toronto (all competitions) and also the second-highest attendance for an international friendly since a 1994 pre-FIFA World Cup friendly with Brazil."

That's actually quite surprising (and not all that good). A fairly big discrepancy, because the attendance that day in Edmonton was 51,922.

All is not bad however because that was a great historical day in Edmonton. "Berdusco, Berdusco" "Brazil caught dreaming"
