I just read someone on here talking about the death of the "housing boom" as if it was a bad thing. Isn't "housing boom" just another word for building acres upon acres of putrid suburban garbage? The death of the housing boom is the best thing that ever happened to America. James Howard Kunstler calls suburbia "the biggest misallocation of resources in the history of the world". Anyway, it didn't die. It just changed forms. It turned into a demand for urban living. But the people (in charge) in Phoenix apparently haven't caught on. Maybe because all the people voting for them are older snowbirds who think the suburbs are this wonderful paradise. |

why is this guy even garnering responses? He's an obvious troll who came out of nowhere to talk shit. He has some growing up to do, and should probably just kill himself now, before it's too late.

Some one should also remind him that Austin is, in fact, in Texas which makes him a Texan.

Pretty sure I was born here. And Austin has improved, in my opinion. This is what we envision it looking like in 2030:
http://i.imgur.com/WQsZ4.jpg Don't get defensive. Just take the criticism to heart and realize Phoenix needs a lot of work. "Housing booms" and suburbia are not the answer. Need to work on downtown. |
Why even bother criticizing? You came out of nowhere and started ranting.
You're a troll |

your enlightening criticism is, i am sure, taken to heart by everyone on this forum. do you really think that any of us aren't aware of anything you have pointed out? really? phoenix is nowhere near ideal but there are some great people here doing some great things to improve it. |

Who cares about Austin? I don't!
Lets talk about PHX, here's my pictures from the Modern PHX home tour: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...97#post5651297 |
A few pics of downtown I took from Phoenix School of Law's new space on the upper floors of the Phelps Dodge Tower, as I was there a few weeks ago to photograph an event for the school:

Those are excellent shots, Don. You forget sometimes how far downtown has come until you see photos like these. Thank you for posting these.

^Indeed. Great shots as always, Don!
I'll be in Downtown Phoenix for training/certification May 7 through the 18th. By chance would anyone be interested in meeting up somewhere Downtown for dinner/drinks during the week(s) I'm down there? I should be free after 5pm on weeknights. |
I'll be downtown those nights

^Buckeye, AZ or the Buckeye State? I was born/raised in Cincinnati.
I'll be downtown for a two week probation officer training/certification run by the Arizona Administrative Office of the Courts. When all's said and done (provided I pass the exam) I'll be a certified probation officer in the State of Arizona. I'm staying somewhere near the Arizona Center (forget the hotel name). |
