Oh yeah and many hotels in north Syracuse near the airport allow you to leave your car there for free during your trip if you stay at least one night with them. At YOW and YUL you have to pay to leave your car there for the week.

Winnipeg's airport is awesome for parking. I used to ditch my car there and leave it a week while I was home and it was cheaper than cabbing it both ways.

When you multiply that by four tickets those are pretty good savings. Even with the gas and the hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express on I-81 we still saved more than 1500 dollars.

I agree, it's a deal if you have a big family. With little kids, it kind of gets complicated.

I've travelled internationally with little kids (I'm talking babies, toddlers). Maybe it's just me, but I want that trip to be as direct and as short as possible! :D

That is flippin' nuts. I hope someday that air travel will become more affordable in Canada, it's really the one economical way to unite the country.

Mine were OK with pretty much anything travel-related by the time they were about 4 or 5.

It's only a really good deal for flying to points within the U.S. though. To my knowledge there aren't any major bargains to be had flying from the States to go overseas. And flying to the Caribbean to an all-inclusive resort from a U.S. airport generally isn't advantageous for Canadians either.

word.

-Father of two little kids.

Too much trouble, and you eventually end up becoming like the wincer/squinter from Alarmforce commercial fame.

Guys!

You gotta train those little kiddies to be global travellers!

Teach them that it's OK to eat dinner at 9:30 pm...

And that there is no choice but to hold it in until the seat belt sign is turned off!

Oh, I know that. :) I was just meaning it would be nice for Canadians to have similarly affordable airfares for domestic flights that Americans currently have as well as having airfares to the US more in line with what Americans pay (obviously dependent still on how long a flight it is).

Iqaluit Airport

YFB
So this finally gets started. However there is a lot of product scheduled for shipping next season.

Interesting that Winnipeg AA will be handling the day to day operations.

If they can do that a profit, that sounds excellent. Being a private company they likely don't need to share that info.

Interesting that Diavik Mine uses the Main Terminal and not Canadian North's terminal. But I believe it has to do with security at the mine more than anything else.

YVR Arrivals
The first of several aviation themed "composite" images I am working on. Aircraft from 21 different airlines on approach to YVR. This image is the result of 5+ hours of photography plus processing time.

I first started playing around with this idea back in Feb 2010.

My kids travel well because they have never known routine. I'll have to wait and see what happens when they become teens.

Dude, that is a PHENOMENAL shot(s).

LeftCoaster Jul 16, 2014 4:11 PM

Great idea. Love the 747 and 787s.

Good numbers out of YEG too, I take it the big bump in Intl is from the Iceland air route starting up?
