Good pic showing the old AC livery and new AC livery lined up down C-Pier on a rainy Vancouver afternoon:

I really love BOTH liveries - from one great livery to another one. Great job lately, Air Canada.
|
I honestly like the new one a lot.
|
I wonder if when they repaint do they strip off the blue layer of the old scheme before painting it white? Otherwise I'd imagine that would be a significant extra weight in paint alone on top of the old scheme.

Is there a way to find out what are the most popular FINAL destinations of a given airport? I want to see what are the largest markets not being served by a direct flight.

Anyone know how the Air China YUL-HAV flight is doing? I was flying back from HAV on Saturday and was talking with a Montrealer taking the flight home, he was saying it is a great option since the fare is really good and you get damn near the whole 777 to yourself. About 50 people boarded in HAV that day. I'm guessing the plane fills up nicely in YUL to head onwards to PEK.

Nice to see Aer Lingus are using the A332 on the Dublin-Toronto flight now instead of the B752. Double the number of business class and another 80 economy seats adds significant capacity to the route.
|
YYT is increasing its passenger fee to $35 to fund the ongoing expansion of the airport.
And my parents are heading to Florida tonight for a break from the snow. Their flight to TO first more than doubles the distance to Tampa. I understand the economics behind the spoke system, but it's still sort of strange. Surely there are enough people here heading south tonight that it'd have to be cheaper not to double their distance. :haha: |

^Same for me... heading down to Fort Lauderdale from Ottawa tomorrow.
YOW - YUL - FLL FLL- YYZ - YOW I don't remember what the price difference was between the ticket I booked and the cheapest direct option, but I imagine it was pretty significant enough for me to do this option instead. No wonder Canadian airports are showing such increases, Ill contribute to Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa's number for this month :D |
Real shit show in the US east coast today, due to weather. Several GDPs (ground delay programs) and even ground stops in place. BOS, DCA, TEB, EWR, PHL, LGA, JFK, ATL all affected. Add to that the construction going on in YYZ (rwy 05-23 closed for reconstruction) meaning another GDP there, and the folks over at Toronto TMU are working harder than ever these few days.....
One of the YYZ-LGA flights today is being operated by a 763. https://extranetapps.navcanada.ca/ois/ois.aspx https://www.flightradar24.com/flight/ac712 |
This map says it all.

I was just on flightradar and noticed that the Royal Air Force A330 departed earlier today, and am wondering what they are doing here. I know they were here years ago for training before deployment to Kandahar... however I don't really see a reason for them to be here now.
