If you could add 5 towers to your skyline.....
 

The catch is all 5 have to be from different cities in the U.S.

For Seattle I would add:

Atlanta's BOA tower
New York's Woolworth tower
Chicago's Hancock tower
Houston's Pennzoil center
Detroit's One Detroit Center

Mine for Seattle would all be tall residentials. I don't know which ones.

for chicago:

1. ESB - NYC
2. terminal tower - cleveland
3. US steel - pittsburgh
4. columbia center - seattle
5. transamerica pyramid - san francisco

i tried to keep this geared towards taller towers (that i really admire) that would still be able to have some kind of a presence on chicago's mighty skyline.

there are craploads of shorter skyscrapers around the coutnry that i would love to have in chicago too, but i answered this more as a "skyline enhancement" exercise, and in chicago's case, that means towers that are at least 750' tall.

For Boston

45 East 22ave in NYC

Columbia Center in Seattle

BofA center in Houston

150 North Riverside in Chicago

One Atlantic Center in Atlanta

Tried to go with relatively newer buildings that wouldn't completely overtake boston's own skyline.

Interesting how a lot of us dig towers from HK. Truly some fantastic architecture there.

For Halifax, Nova Scotia, I'd love to make the height-phobic NIMBYs scream!

NYC- One Penn Plaza. (OMG the NIMBY shrieks would be epic, it's HUGE)
San Francisco- 50 Fremont (I can't help it, it's a cutie)
Dubai- The Address Downtown Dubai

To Toronto I would add:

1) Library Tower - LA
2) John Hancock Tower - Chicago
3) John Hancock Tower - Boston
4) Columbia Center - Seattle
5) XYZ Buildings - NYC (I know technically these are three buildings, but I count them as one)

I do love this thought exercise. I've often longed for an app or PC program that can generate a skyline with other buildings from various cities added in grid. I appreciate this can be done with PaintShop, but I would like a click and drag version for simplicity's sake.

For Detroit:

Unite d'Habitation. I'd like a Unite by Le Corbusier to have been built south of Mies van der Rohe's Lafayette Park.

Ministry of Health and Education Building by Lucio Costa in Rio de Janeiro.

Guarantee Building by Louis Sullivan in Buffalo.

Inland Steel Building by SOM in Chicago.

And as much as Rockefeller Center as I can get. :)


Honorable mentions include Park Hill in Sheffield and Robin Hood Gardens in London, but both are very site dependent so I stuck with more universal buildings.
